People, please stop buying these awful things, they're terrible for the environment and not as good as the real thing

The aldi proper coffee has been reviewed as "surprisingly good" by coffee snobs website, it's DIRT cheap. Like $11 a kilo for the beans or $13 a kilo for the pre-ground. I've even seen 1kg pre-ground in Woolies under $20 on special too.

We went to Good guys and got a Sunbeam machine for about $220, with the proper 58mm coffee handle on it, it was the 'strongest feeling' machine (not rattling, seemed built well, reviewed nicely online)

The cheapest I can find the capsules for these nespresso machines, looks to be in the 39c per cup range.

I'm getting somewhere around 60-80 cups of coffee from each half kilo bag of pre-grind from Aldi. Literally less than half the cost, not scewing the planet and tasting better. (18.5c per cup)
It would be 20% cheaper if I could be bothered to buy a grinder and buy the direct beans

      Preach somewhere else greens voter.

      • This is ozbargain, these stupid devices cost over twice as much per cup than the dumb pod things.

  • Generic link to the DJs website?

    • Yeh i was about to post that too. Pointless link is pointless

    • Appears to be instore only. OP should post a link to the receipt instead of the DJ website.
