    paying premium for the design alone

    spec wise not really bargain worthy

      This isn't a gaming monitor, these are more for office and possibly professional. I have a Crossover 27VV and no it's not 144Hz but surprisingly checking with Calman the colour calibration is super good at factory default, and support Adobe RGB. There are more to a monitor than just refresh rate.

      • look, this is not Crossover 27VV obviously

        this for office ? yes. but just for the looks ?

        professional ? no. that's far off for this monitor.
        8 bit depth , not even with FRC for fake 10bit
        no factory pre-calibration certification
        no preset adobe rgb color profile settings
        no vesa mount

        yeah, not just refresh rate.

          any recommendation on good monitor. Budget is $600. No gaming. some movies and youtube videos. mostly used for web browsing. avg 2 hours daily use. minimum 27 inch.
          currently have samsung syncmaster 2494hs- served me well for almost 10 years, will be using this for CCTV monitor.I just wanted to upgrade.

          But it is
          https://www.techspot.com/products/monitors/asus-mx27aq.11696…

          Granted it's 2015 tech. If you want actual 10 bit monitor not FRC you better prepare >$1K. Not $400.

          @ashikk:

          DELL U2715h and ASUS MX27AQ are the best in that price range IMHO. Both have similar display quality (8 bits, AH-IPS, 2k).
          DELL is just a tiny bit more expensive (like $30-$40 more) and have adjustable stand with VESA mount. ASUS has fixed stand but overall slicker design (DELL looks very nice as well though).

          I personally got the DELL one myself since I find the adjustable stand very useful, I can orient it horizontally and vertically.

          @Bigboomboom:

          yeah whatever "prosumer" "gaming mode"
          i won't get sucked-in and my point below still stands for paying double as premium yet lacking in spec to call it pro

          8 bit depth , not even with FRC for fake 10bit
          no factory pre-calibration certification
          no preset adobe rgb color profile settings
          no vesa mount
          no height adjustable / swivel / pivot

          https://www.dell.com/en-au/shop/accessories/apd/210-amuo?VEN…

          i know this is above your budget at 799 new straight from dell , but you can get it cheaper if you wait & hunt from dell DFO outlet

          HDR10 for your movies
          4k split screen for CCTV

          The above will be future proof and last you a lot longer.

          I'll give you an idea on why you're paying premium if you're going for this asus or the dell u2715 recommended by the other fellow.

          viewsonic-va2719-2k
          10bit (8+frc)
          2k
          ips
          27"

          usual price ?
