  • Any deals on the Pro version?

    • Unfortunately no. All others are priced over 100$. This one is best value.

  • I have this with the adjustable length feature (from the uk). It is very good but not always as even as other groomers/trimmers. Very good at close shaving. I'd personally wait for the adjustable model. Having them stocked in AU is great as the cartridges were expensive (amazon au now selling 2 for $40).

  • Thanks OP bought

  • Anyone used this for shaving their chest? Is it like traditional shaving and will I cut myself with this? Never shaved my chest before haha

    • +1

Guy I used to work with was telling me he ordered one from Amazon US ages ago, swears by it for shaving body hair.

    • +2

I am very hairy (thanks grandpa). I shave (gross sorry I know) hands chest back face head everything except legs, trust me, this is the best you can get, no cuts, no hair pulls, it’s excellent. Go for it.

      • Excellent. Will probably wait for the adjustable version though as others have pointed out. Thank you.

        • Yeah good idea, I must use my fiancée to do my back and neck.

        • @Salian:

One more question, how close is the shave? I feel like stubble on my chest would look weird aha

        • @Salian: Try lasering! I'm not sure about how much it costs but it seems to be a good solution for people who don't want to shave.

        • @Mombles:

Did laser, paid a fortune, unfortunately it’s temporary as it lasted around 4-5 years. It only weakens the hair so it grows very slow and thin, falls out due to its being very weak, but with time it’s all back to normal.

          @nurries:

Last device I used was Philips bodygroom series 3000 model BG2024. It promises trim and shave but the difference between them is significant.

In my honest opinion I can say that you can’t get any closer shave than using oneblade. It’s absolutely fanstastic, fast, powerful, best shave ever. Seriously buy it and try it, if you don’t like it then return it, but I can’t find any cons, it does the job in 100%.

        • [@nurries](/comme ifnt/6296625/redir):I find it as close as a blade but without the cuts or chaffing. But I've only used it on my face.

    • These are designed for use on the body
      https://www.philips.com.au/c-m-pe/body-groomers

They may be better than something designed for a face.

      • Absolutely not.

NOTHING is better than oneblade. Seriously.

  • I'm glad to learn about this product, but based on the price of it overseas (35 USD) and the fact that it's not actually on sale at Amazon.com.au, I suspect this isn't actually a deal and it's just the normal price.

I see it went to 17 USD on Amazon.com last year. I think Philips is keen to get these in your home so you have to buy the expensive replacement blades every 4 months.

Now that is some logic. How is it not available on amazon au?

      • +1

I said it's not "on sale", not it's "not available", nor did I say it's "not for sale".

        • My logic comment was about it not being a deal. Just because it's cheaper without shipping somewhere else doesn't make this less valid. This price includes shipping and you can actually get it delivered, compared to the Amazon US product.

    • +1

35$ USD (=48$ AUD) is the version without extra blade (~25$ value)

Actually right now it is on sale on amazon AU (Father’s Day). When it wasn’t on sale it was 79$ (that’s when I got it and later price matched)

      • Fair enough. Usually Amazon shows when something is on sale.

  • +1

Agreed lowest price. But not part of fathers day sale. Bought this 2 weeks ago.

    Best trimmer I've owned…

  • Anyone knows what’s the cost for replacement blade ?

    • They sell just the blades on Amazon too. Around $40-50 per two blades by the looks of things.

    • You can get a 3 pack from Amazon US (via the AU site) for $54, which works out at $18/blade. Search is your friend.

  • The description on the Amazon listing indicates that the typical blade replacement duration is around 4 months on a 2 shaves per week usage frequency.
Does anyone have any experience with other electric shavers and know whether 4 months is considered normal/short/long?

Just wondering how the ongoing maintenance costs for this particular model compares with other products.

    Thanks all.

    • +1

I had my previous oneblade for 6 months and the blade was still good.

      • thanks for feedback!

      • Same for me. I kept my oldest blade (initially lasted about 6 months of twice weekly face shaves) and then have since used it for shaving my back every month and it does the job fine (it is now one year old).

Shavershop and Harvey's now sell replacement blades in a two pack for about $40 so not really worth importing from US to save $2 a blade IMO.

Seriously the best and most convenient shaver going around. Never use my $300 Philips anymore!

    • It really depends on how you use it. I found it lasted about 40 shaves. I could have kept using the blade as it still cut, but the edges didn't trim as well as with a new blade and it took longer to do a full shave (had to run over the same area two or three times).

      • fair enough. thanks for feedback.

  • Guys would I be able to trim with it (I know it writes in the bio it can trim), what I mean is, can it trim to a lenght of 1cmish?

  • Bought, thanks OP

I also bought this exact same one from Amazon AU for around $79 3 weeks ago. Works well for me and still gives quite a close neck shave without cuts or rash.
I use the 3mm stubble comb for my beard which works very well.
Mine came with a spare blade and a 1mm, 3mm and 5mm stubble comb (as per the description.)
I'm very happy with it and I did shop around for better pricing at the time, with no significant difference to Amazon.
I just finished a quick live chat with Amazon to confirm that they don't offer a credit for price drops. Didn't expect so, but was worth double checking:)
I guess I could return it saying it didn't meet the expectations and then order another under my wife's account, but I'm happy with Amazon's service and don't mind too much in this case. There's always going to be specials, and I've taken advantage of some pretty significant ones recently too.

    • +1

Yes first response from them I got was blah blah the item is under special promotion(Father’s Day) so it’s not eligible for price match, BUT I have started a return and emailed them again firmly explaining that I am frustrated and I cannot live with it and I really am going to send it back and order a new one that’s where they will HAVE TO return the price difference AND pay for shipping 17$ effectively losing even more money so it’s in our common interest that I receive the difference.

It worked, already have the money in my account.

I must mention that it’s the second time I got price difference returned, first time same thing it was with the dolce gusto machine I got it for 19 then it dropped to 12, first email they said NO, I pushed for it and it worked.

NO MERCY, THE POWER IS OURS!!!

  • Thanks for the post!

    Bought one

  • This any good for the armpit or trouser python regions?

    • +1

Will be excellent for armpits. Downstairs it’s good for trimming but if you want to make them silky smooth you would have to use the razor. It’s because the surface it’s uneven, not oneblades fault.

  • Thanks OP

  • Thanks OP!

  • +1

how are these around the jewels?

    • +1

Good for trimming but if you want to make them silky smooth you would have to use the razor. It’s because the surface it’s uneven, not oneblades fault.

  • thanks! i picked one up. i've never been a fan of using regular razors as the blade irritates my skin. this is just what i need!

  • Delivery isn't showing as free for me somehow? An extra $5.99… what gives?

    • No clue. Amazon offers Free shipping on items 49 and up.

      • Never mind, somehow mine defaulted to expedited. Bought one now!

        • "Somehow"? 😇 Amazon just want you to spend more money. Did the same to me, btw.

  • Is this one the NimH battery version or the Li-Ion version. The Amazon web page displays "Long Lasting Li-Ion Battery" under the photo which shows NimH.

It also mentions the 45 minute run time / 8 hour charge time, but the Philips AU website mentions 4 hr charge time for the Li-Ion version.

Anyone who has already purchased from Amazon.com.au know?

    • Yeah there is some confusion around the battery on the listing… I think this version is NIMH,and the more expensive ones are Lithium ion.

    • Yeah could be Nimh.
      It’s unavailable now.

      • QP2520 is NIMH battery. Lithium is QP2530. Charging time much longer with NIMH. UK Philips site has comparison.

    • This is definitely NiMH - I just received it, today, and it says, "NiMH" on the box.

  • -1

Combine with the Amex deal and get it for $24.50

    • What amex deal?

        • +1

That one applies to the membership fees not any item purchased with Amazon prime unfortunately

  • i had one from the UK never really wet shave anymore. Use it for everything.

Had to pay a bomb to get blades imported though!

  • Damn i missed it. I have been eyeing off this shaver for a while.

My old shaver charge only lasts like 60 seconds now and hardly does its job anyway!

    • It’s back go for it

      • Cheers!

  • ITS BACK!

  • $44.10 with 10% Amazon cashback, that's basically the cost of just the 2 blades.

  • There’s is also promo on blades at the moment, after cashback 3 blades would be around 47$

  • Now $77.95 :+(

  • Mine just arrived, today: looking forward to trying it out!

Oh, and it's the 2520 - not the 2530 (says 2520/30 in the description and on Amazon) so it's 8 hour charge, not 4 hour, doesn't have flashing lights on charging, etc. And obviously it's NiMH and not Li-ion which is mentioned on Amazon (despite being under a picture which has NiMH in it).

  • It’s 2520 / 30 there are different types depending on included extras eg: 2520/20, 2520/30, 2520/70

The number before slash means the version of razor and after slash means addons

This is pretty basic model but you will not be disappointed, let me know how it goes, good luck!

    • Ah right - my apologies - I just naturally assumed it meant, QP2520 and QP2530. But from the comments, I was expecting the basic model anyway. If only I could actually finish work and go home to try this thing out…

  • I'm finding this thing is really hard to shave with. Not working very well for my chest/stomach: any tips on how to get the best out of this, please? I'm going slowly, against the grain, in Long movements.

    Cheers,
    Richard.

    • I did my whole body just 2 days ago, every time I use it I’m very happy about it. No clue how could it be bad for you. It’s fast accurate doesn’t pull. Oh well. R u going wet or dry?

      • Sorry, thought I'd replied.

I've only used it dry, so far. It's a lot better now, for whatever reason - hair maybe need to adapt or something? 😇
