63

(1 month contract's get 6 GB data)

[ Already GOT a Jeenee plan? Give 'em your Senior (or Pension) card # and you can hop onto this plan. Oh, they also have plans for folks on NDIS.

IMO, Jeenee are doing their homework & creating phone plans that give "Value 4 Money"

Kids' plans from $8.91 /mon with Free "Parental Controls" to help parents insure that kids can sleep or do Homework

It just gets better, every time I visit their website!

Tell me, would Telstra, etc. ever:+ offer this much value 4 money OR + be -that- flexible? I, for one, haven't seen it. :-)

Would not recommend this scammers. Was asked to provide a bank statement for verification and they went and used the details to set up a direct debit without my permission.

Stay well away, especially vulnerable seniors/etc.

Note this was a fair while ago, but after an experience like that I don't think I would ever recommend them again.

I've used them and were super impressed. Hopefully, that was just a freak experience :( Hope everything worked out well in the end!

I've had a fantastic experience with both service and customer service with Jeenee. I pay 22.50 a month for 10gb and unlimited calls and text.

IMO, you are unduly cricizing an EXCELLENT Social Enterprise organisation (hence, the .org.au).

      Did they ever Overcharge you?

Making it easy for you pay for their services
      is, IMO, a FEATURE… Not a BUG. ;-)

Either tell us what bugged you about them OR
I'll assume you're working with / for other
telco's, eg, throwing mud on a competitor, &
      hoping some of it sticks.

By me, it Won't Stick. I've only have GREAT
      service & deals from Jeenee.

      Enjoy your day…

I have no association with any other telco, except my phone plan with Optus if you count that. This comment in no way benefits me.

I understand what you're saying and it is plausible they were trying to help / make it easier for me, though using my personal details in this way without requesting my permission or alerting me is still a huge financial and privacy compliance failure. I even asked at various stages throughout the call why they needed bank statements for confirmation - why wasn't a passport a suitable substitute? They simply kept explaining they needed it for verification. Ended up just emailing the statement for verification and received a reply a few hours later alerting me of a direct debit being set up to that account, of which didn't actually regularly have funds and wasn't the account I would use even if I did want direct debit.

        1. Trying to make a complaint about it was quite difficult.
        2. Trying to turn off direct debit was near impossible.
        3. Trying to switch the direct debit agreement to a new account was difficult
        4. Trying to cancel as they weren't able to resolve the matter was difficult.
        5. Trying to get my bill corrected after they somehow overcharged me was difficult.
(Note the rest isn't exactly an issue because it was unresolved, rather because of how they dealt with it)
        6. Billing started from the order date rather than the activation/receive date (2 weeks later), they refused to refund the difference for a fair while. Was sent around in circles.
        7. Trying to contest the entire bill was difficult. I requested cancellation as soon as they weren't able to fix the direct debit (1-2 days in), so wasn't comfortable paying for the month. Dodgy company and didn't want to deal with them. They wouldn't even accept the complaint to be investigated - simply acted as if borderline financial fraud is standard practice for them.

If they instead took the complaint seriously, provided some training, etc - wouldn't be as much of an issue. I do have a major issue with them not taking it seriously, not investigating and not providing any training to prevent further similar issues. Also don't like their billing practices, but this isn't unusual for telcos (ie I've had the same issue with Optus - they start billing 3 days after order date, even if you don't receive it then)

      • Do you work for them? You're gushing over them.

Discrimination against youth and others who are not bald-headed.

    • Discrimination against people who use more than 10gb a month

      • Sounds like you may have used More than Quota

Did you read your Contract and/or the CIS for your plan?

They may - like other telco's have a clause, eg,
$10 for each overQuota GB used.

The only discrimination here is likely to be
        between:

        • folks who read Contract / plan CIS, &
        • those who don't

        YMMV, of course…

Pardon me but that's discrimination by you, not all seniors are bald headed!! 🤠

Have been with Jeenee for the past few months on their $9.90/mo plan for a few months now, no issues so far with coverage or payments. I was certainly never asked for provide any bank statements during the online set up

    It's just a rubbish deal. $20/Mo? Where's the discount?

Jeenees own $9.90 plan has more data, unlimited calls and texts, and even if you added $50 of international calls is still cheaper!

And this is coming from a jeenee customer!

Note: their service does struggle to get things right when you need help. The website still doesn't work for me after a year (options are hidden by the frame on the left when you log in, I have to inspect elements and delete the frame to be able to click things, and they removed my data bonus (for 12 month lock in) without telling me!

$20 is also offered by ovo. And without even looking I bet Aldi is better

    • +2

Jeenees own $9.90 plan has more data

Are we looking at the same thing? The $19.90 plan is 10 GB per month versus 1 GB per month on the $9.90 plan. So that's 10 times the data allowance for only double the price.

A quick check shows Ovo is 2 GB per month for $19.95, and Aldi is 4 GB for $25.

      • Sorry, youre right. I thought it was 10gb/annum

        Facepalm.

10gb/mo for seniors seems quite a lot. Maybe it's marketing and they're banking on the data not being used by many subscribers. The $9.90/mo seems like a better option

        • I use data to listen to, eg, "CBC Radio" and 1.2 GB doesn't last a month…

    • Maybe try a different Browser…

      Plenty to choose from:
      +Firefox
      +Chrome
      +Opera
      (etc.)

  • I'd advise against going on contract, the month by month would be better, even with less data.

Having said that, I'd not recommend this company, there are less painful options out there.

    • So, tell us: What are some of these "less painful" options?

      • Kogan mobile for one…. but a more exhaustive list includes pretty much anyone else :p

Depends on what your wants/needs are.

  • I can only warn you .Do not get involved with this service .
Their customer service is non existent .No one ever picked up the phone in all my attempts to contact them ,any messages left via the homepage went unanswered .
They started to bill me even before I received the sim .When I tried to get a refund it was refused.
I would warn people about giving them access to your bank account
I can only assume all these positive reviews to be fake or employees of the company
As for the claim of assisting the disabled that is just a tax write off

  • This wording is a little ambiguous:
"This plan is a 12-month contract and must be paid in advance by direct debit only."

So, you have to pay 12 months in advance or each month gets paid monthly, in advance?
