    • Controller alone is selling like $100+ on these websites

    • The controller has the headphone jack, just for the info of people trying to work out if they need it or not.

After using a Nexus Player for years and recently switching to an Apple TV 4K, I personally think you’d be crazy to spend this much on an Android TV based device. Nothing against the hardware, just the OS and interface running on it.

Really? Because I have Apple 4k as well as the Shield and I much prefer the Shield's Android TV UI. Apple TV also has that absolutely horrid on-screen keyboard layout that is a bitch to use.

I am holding of buying due to there be many more retailers on board now and will drop in prices very soon

    • As in more retailers are going to sell the Shield? I often wondered why it was never sold locally.

It's only been officially offered in Australia for a few weeks now. Hence the pricing is high and will eventually drift downwards.

I just love the way these guys and a few others have inflated the srp by $20 or more, over the selling price that was published in all the reviews/articles, when they announced the release for Australia.

Been using 2016 model and its still going very strong. One of my best purchase.
