I thought this was fly to Melbourne for $10

They seriously call it a flight?

    • +1

After their serious engineering issues a few years ago the ride is now a 'flight to safety'

  • +3

I would be hoping not to go flying if I was on the wheel.

  • what's up with RGB these days

    • +1

this ferris wheel is controlled with ASUS Aura Sync RGB.

I am assuming it would only be carry on luggage at this price.

  • Thanks OP, was looking for a scoopon deal for this last week.
    $10 is a decent price

  • For $10, you will fly crawl and land at the same place from where you boarded your flight :P

    • +6

An even better deal - a RETURN flight for $10😁

Riding ferris wheel = "flight"? Sounds like false advertising or someone lacking a basic grasp of engrish =P

I thought this was saying $10 and you can go every day for 10 days.

    • ditto.

    • I thought this was saying fly to Melbourne for free with complimentary accommodation, and at the end of your stay some guy gives you $10.

This wheel is an unbridled rip-off at $27, but for $10 it's worth a look if you haven't already been on it.

The problem is not the wheel per se, but rather it's location. Most wheels are around the world are in very central locations so you seemingly float over the surrounding buildings. Not so in Docklands, it's literally in the middle of nowhere and the city view is a couple of KMs away.

      no unbridled enthusiasm?

      • +2

My enthusiasm was very firmly bridled, pre, post and during the "flight".

    • +1

it's literally in the middle of nowhere

      I live in Docklands. :(

      • You live in the middle of nowhere.

        Kidding!

I love Docklands. Costco, Marvel Stadium, great cycling paths, fireworks in summer.

        • Indeed, it's a nice area of the city…. just the specific part of Docklands they have the wheel does not make the experience worthy of the $27!

They were going to put the damn thing on the old rail bridge over the Yarra. That would have been very impressive, but an ugly eyesore.

    • This is a good comment.
I take you've ridden the wheel? How many people roughly in each carriage?

      • +2

Up to 20 per pod. But when I went during the day, there was just the two of us. And I don't recall seeing more one or two other pods in use.

    Eureka Skydeck is better value..

    • any deals on Eureka skydeck

Where is the flight going?. I'm confusion.

    • +1

Confucious says it's not an actual flight, but a ride labelled with fancy marketing.
