  • Qantas still doesnt fly firect to KL hmmm

No loss there, just fly with MH. Cheaper and better service when I have flown with them.

      • Very subjective.

        • +2

I found MH very pleasant to fly with compared to SG which is overrated. QF meanwhile is hit and miss depending on which dragons you encounter.

      • Even MH flies via another port with long layovers on some flights…

        • Don't all MH flights go direct from Aust to KL?

        • @stewy: not from Adelaide, many flights via Perth etc with long layovers in early morning hours… looking at 15 hours vs direct 8 hours… I'd rather fly AAX or Flyscoot from Melbourne even if it means having to connect!

    • +4

Qantas has a grand total of zero international flights out of Adelaide. We are covered by SG, MH, EK, QR, CX, China Southern, Air NZ and Air Fiji. So much for the “Australian” airline.

So much for the “Australian” airline.

It's the "Australian" airline only when there's money it in for them.

        • Qantas Sydney Airways

Has been for a number of years now.

Is this one of these "Qantas" deals that are operated by Jetstar?

  • Would be great if they could upgrade their aircraft on a lot of these routes to say match Cathay or Virgin? Truly dreadful the service and product on alot of these A330s and 747s

    • A330s? What are you talking about, all their interiors have all been refreshed

      • I also choose my airlines, restaurants and other service providers based on their interiors.

      • +1

That's only the A330-300s, the 200s haven't all been upgraded.

Had the misfortune of flying on the Barossa Valley A330-200 to BKK earlier this year. Absolute dog of a plane (worn out seats, non functional entertainment system, dirty and no leg room due to the entertainment system control box) and the service from the crew was crap to.

Meanwhile the return leg was on an Emirates A380. The plane was in excellent condition and the flight crew were awesome.

        • They have all been upgraded. There were two A332 left but they have now been upgraded

        • @UberIsCool:
The only article I can find says one of the A330-200s is being done some time in the second half of this year and the other still isn't being upgraded until 2019.

Looks like VH-EBG is in Brisbane now for maintenance, so perhaps VH-EBL is the one getting done next year.

I think also these two are only being refurbished to domestic layout standards and not the international layout.

Personally I'll still be steering clear of any Qantas A330-200 flight until I can find positive confirmation both shitheaps have been upgraded.

Even then, the pricing would have to be sharp to put up with their crap flight crews…

how do you search just the sale dates. It seems all I'm getting back are the full fares

    • They're up to their tricks!
