Re-certified by WD with 6 month official warranty

received mine several days ago, tested and seems in excellent condition, no trace of usage (or probably WD wiped it). come with retail package, looks brand new.

I think its a good price, consider the cheapest price for a brand new one is around $870 here.

just be aware that the shipping & processing time is around 20 days.

  • can this be shucked?

      Presumably. It says WD reds in the description.

      It's "recertified" new which normally means lightly used and inspected, although they're also "New, Never used" so it's a bit confusing.

      Great price for two 10TB reds though.

      • I don't think any older motherboards can support 20TB hard drive yet.

          It's not a 20TB Hard Drive, it's two 10TB hard drives in one enclosure. The highest capacity hard drive on the market at the moment is 12TB.

          This device stores half the data on one drive, half the data on another, which means you can get up to twice the performance out of it, but if one drive dies all your data is gone. This is called RAID 0.

          Obviously if you shuck the drives then you can configure them how you like.

        • @BenR31415: ahhh, thanks for clarifying.

          @BenR31415:
          RAID0… Because why not double the chance to lose all the data? :)

        • @BenR31415: so theres no way to use WD software to run a different raid config while unshucked?

          @jabroni: Supports RAID 0, 1, and JBOD

  • 4 MONTH WARRANTY

    • -1

      If they're selling it new or refurbished you have the same ACL rights as buying new.

      ie. the warranty is worthless.

      • Does the ACL apply given it's from an overseas seller?

      • Fighting any low warranty will be a headache.

  • Is the 6 month warranty for the disks or the enclosure?
    If it's for the full package, then it's not worth the risk.

  • OP can you check the warranty with WD on the actual HDD's serial number?

    • +1

      The HD warranty is generally assigned to the enclosure it was supplied in, i.e. if you by a MY Book with 1 yr warranty but it has a WD RED in it, it only has 1 yr not 3.
