Just a note this is 60hz only (with a 3840x2160 resolution) - compared to 144hz (up to 165hz OC with only a resolution of 2560x1440) on the AG271QG. The AG271QG is available for around the same price with the computer alliance 20% currently available.

Personally, I think 4K resolution is wasted on a 27" panel. It's too small. Additionally, I've found higher refresh rate to be A LOT more visually noticeable/appealing than 4K.

My advice: Go for 1440p/27"/Gsync monitor and use a TV for your 4K/HDR/60hz needs. Until HDR/4k/Gsync/144hz monitors come down in price, because they are the cream of the crop.

Issue with the current high Hz 4k gsync panels is is the fpga they use to do the gsync. It in itself is stupidly expensive. Going to need the next generation of gsync/chips for them to come down a lot in price, may not happen for a while.

Personally I prefer 4k 60hz; granted only tested them out briefly but I prefer the higher ppi than the higher Hz. I mostly play slow games, 4x, etc. Where rapid movement isn't as common.

Also buying 2.5k panels now means you have to sell them off when you eventually upgrade to 4k. Buying a 4k panel now means I can just gradually keep replacing my "primary" (centre) monitor as new ones come out (for a single monitor set up I guess this is a moo point).

      • Or NVIDIA bites the bullet and support FreeSync, as it already does. There is already 4K 144Hz FreeSync monitor that cost $400 USD less than Gsync with exact same specs (and panel). Plus people already found a way using AMD GPU to trick NVIDIA GPU to do FreeSync.

        • Do you have a link to a monitor like that? That's exactly what I'm after!

Haha yeah that freesync trick for an nvidia gpu is brilliant. I'd use it myself now if I had a amd CPU! I really hope they don't block it.

  • Gah so nearly perfect! Why no slim bezels!?
