  • Damn! How can this be!

  • Amaziing

Called Costco warehourse. They have 5 left if everyone need it.

I brought from Sony Parramatta with price match. Amazing staff Terry help me out. I ever did through the phone.

    • I called at 3pm and they said they were sold out.

    • David Jones agreed to price match pending managers approval tomorrow

      • Ha.. good luck but keep us posted.

        • -1

After they agreed, they looked on the system and had none in stock

I then called Sony kiosk paramatta and they agreed to price match if I emailed them a picture of my Costco membership. If not, they will add a $60 fee for Costco membership on top of the price. $35 delivery fee applies.

Go crazy guys of you really want one

    • I'll try tomorrow to call that shop do you remember what model it was you got? Hopefully sony got stock

  • +1

My wife got the last one at Moorabbin. Feeling kinda sad and excited at the same time. I mean.. who in their right mind spends $3000 on a TV.

    • +1

A wife. And sadly you can't say no otherwise your benefits may be withdrawn at anytime

    • +2

Probably a smarter person than someone who spends the $6500 RRP on a TV.

    • Unless they found another out the back or your wife picked up the display unit, I got the last one on the floor at Moorabbin bout 1645pm. Either the sale price was taken down by someone shifty or it never went up. I had to haggle with the front end guy to check after I showed him the pic of the ticket posted above, after punching in the code you shoulda seen the surprise on his face. Could not have dashed back to the section fast enough… feel like I stole it for that price.
Btw- for the guy below it has pnp, haven’t tried it yet though

      • Would love to hear if you find the Android P&P feature is actually usable.

My understanding of the P&P supported in the Android TV OS is that it allows you to view a TV programme in a small screen while using another app. But the other app cannot be a video app.

        From Sony's help page - http://helpguide.sony.net/tv/ega3/v1/en-142/01-02_07.html
        - The small screen is displayed on top of the last app used. However, the app that is displayed may vary depending on certain conditions.
        - Operations such as changing the channel is disabled while watching with a small screen.
        - TV programme, external input such as an HDMI device, apps that play back movies, or some apps that play back pictures or music cannot be displayed at the same time.
        - The position of the small screen is automatically adjusted. You cannot set it manually.

In regards to the comment below about P & P dying before 3D, my opinion is 3D died because no one used it, P&P died because Android could not support it and when they did get around to supporting it, like many Android features, it was implemented so poorly no one wanted to use it. Others may disagree :-)

This is state of the art visual tech. There is nothing better. With Netflix and the others you have access to modern day equivalent of the artistic rennaissance.

So $3k is a drop in the ocean. In fact it's a human right to be able to watch this on OLED.

      Your wife is a saint.

  • All of these great TV's on the market but none of them support Picture and Picture (aka Picture by Picture or Twin Picture) which is used everyday in my household on our 2010 Sony TV.

I suspect I will have to track down a used Sony 65X9000B or 65X8500B circa 2014 which is the last model that had real P & P and thankfully no Google TV.

    • If you don't mind me asking, what do people use P&P for?

      • +3

P&P is great when you want to keep an eye on the cricket/tennis/F1 …. while actually watching and listening to some other show. You can switch the sound between screens by a single button on the remote when something exciting happens. Also good for watching something else during commercial breaks while watching a show live (does anyone still watch live TV?).

        • Ah right. Personally I'd just watch 1 show with my full attention and then look at the 2 minute highlights of the sport afterwards. Maybe that's why P&P died. Thanks for the detailed answer though.

    • P & P died way before 3d tv

    • Panasonic's last year OLED models have split screen PnP, but not one for different sized pictures.

    • Easy, just buy two…

  • Bought X85E for 800$ just a couple days back.
    Before you ask.
No. It is not new. But hey the guy gave it to me with the purchase bill and he was genuine. TV still feels brand new.

  • Tempting. My reno is nearly finished and I'll be looking for a 65-75inch in the next couple of months. Think I'll hold out until Christmas. Let the games begin! 😜

  • Did anyone see the price of the B&O A9 at Epping by chance?

    • I can let you know the price for every B&O product actually, "Too Much"

      • +2

        Thanks, captain. But definitely agree

Free Anti-Topple Device for those who bought this unit

If you bought this device, the lean can be of concern combined with the weight of the unit.

To be on the safe side, claim your free Anti-Topple device

    Model number to select: KD65A1

    • Yeah I claimed 3 months ago got crickets. Thanks Sony…

    • Apparently the anti topple device has been out of stock for a few months now
When asked why the redemption website is still up and running - the online support from Sony advised this was beyond their control and then typed goodbye and closed the chat…

  • Dumb question, but is this a Smart TV?

  • Looking forward to seeing some new owner impressions in this thread.

  • +1

3 left in Adelaide as of store close last night at 8:30pm (after I bought 1).

    • +2

Initial impressions after getting it straight on the wall mount - I’m so glad I waited for this tech to reach my price point. I’m so glad I went 65” instead of 55”. Movies and TV shows have never looked so good in our home. Thank-you OLED.

      • I read mix review on wall mounting for this unit.
You think it's seating close enough on wall?
Can you still access cable points?

        Thanks

  • Wow, 3K for 4K TV, 75 cents per pixel, bargain
How did I miss this, bought 65” X9300E for $2000 (seconds) a couple of months ago, this is heaps better

    • I'm looking at getting a kd65x9000e for around $1700 this week (2nd hand, originally purchased march). Any advice on the x9000e series? I have a fear of burn in with these oleds and the huds usually present in my games. Cheers.

      • Just saw this now, mine is x9300 but in a previous OP an expert told me the differences and was suggesting buying either x9000 or x9300 in an OP for x8500 so I believe x9000 is as good plus it’s direct LED (x9300 is edge led, generally direct led is better). Also bear in mind in terms of the brightness x9300 is brightest and then x9000 which is brighter than OLED. However I find x9300 way too bright at highest brightness so x9000 should be good enough.

  • Any at Northlakes?

I called Sony kiosk paramatta and they agreed to price match if I emailed them a picture of my Costco membership. If not, they will add a $60 fee for Costco membership on top of the price. $35 delivery fee applies.

    • tell them, you will get the costco membership and buying from them instead.

  • all sold out in vic

    • See my comment above

      • Thanks got one

        • From a vic sony store or parramatta?

        • -1

          @drpants:

          Doesn't matter cause it's delivery for $35

        • @drpants: Parramatta as Vic store only sells cameras

        • the Sony store at nunawadding sells TVs

        • @Dex38313: They only had the display model

        • yes but they can order if u ask

        • @Dex38313: Checked with them yesterday before placing the order with Sydney and they were of the opinion there are no more left in Australia. No chance of ordering one. I nearly bought the display piece…

        • oh ok

        • -1

          @djshitu:

The display one in auburn had burn in

        • @easternculture: I was overpowered by "ozbargain spirit". Actually paid for it without checking!!! And then cancelled the order after seeing your post regarding Sydney Parramatta. The guys were helpful and refunded the amount.

          Thanks again.

Just got 1 at sony parramatta for $3094 including delivery ! Sweet !

  • +2

Purchased from Sony Parra Store. Ripper of a deal, lot of money but worth it !

    • Do you have to go in store for the deal? Is it possible to mention who you spoke with at the store?

Would kill for this deal, but in the city, no way to make Parramatta today.

      • You better off ordering over the phone with delivery as its a big TV and you don't want it to get damaged during transport

  • +3

Just brought one over the phone at Sony Chatswood, $3040 including delivery. Even take Amex with no surcharge. They've been taking a few enquiries over the phone already.

    • +1

Just saw this deal had to comment. Spoke on the phone with Sony Castle Hill. they said still have stock available and are happy to price match. Really thinking of getting one, need to get the missus on board

      • +1

Thanks. Did the same with Sony chatswood.

  • Costco in Adelaide sold out.

  • Boughfrom parramatta shop for 3094$ delivered . 3-5 days delivered , guy said the deal for price match ends today

  • To anyone who’s done it, what mount did you use to mount the A1 to the wall? I’m looking for suggestions?

    • The cheapest one from MSY. It was around $28 I think. The TV is quite light without the lead weight at the base of the kick stand.

  • +5

Guys just ordered one from Sony Parramatta! They are taking orders and were happy to ship it to Melbourne for $35.
    Spoke to Harry (Manager)

  • Just curious, what are the content you can watch on OLED? Is it just Blu-Ray DVD or anything else?

    • Netflix UHD FTW

  • +2

Update -Sony chatswood is still doing price match. Just bought one.
    Ask for Jerry in chatswood
    Thanks

  • +2
