  • How do SoundPEATS compare to Taotronics? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/398424

    • +2

For Taotronics bluetooth headphones, These are the headphones you need if you want to workout. The headphones are very comfortable and snug, perfectly secure even while you are running or even biking. They have integrated magnets that you can use to attack the headphones together when they are not in use, allowing you to wear them like a necklace.

The product uses CVC noise isolation technology to reduce the noise coming from your immediate vicinity, making their sound that much clearer. The headphones can last an estimated five hours even with continuous music, with that number jumping to 175 hours when they are on standby.

As for the SoundPEATS, These earbuds have the unique ability to connect to two devices at the same time. Additionally, they have the ability to automatically connect to any device to which they have been successfully paired before.

Offering high-fidelity stereo sound quality, these earbuds will work with most Bluetooth-enabled smartphones. Availing six hours of talk time or music time, the earbuds are very lightweight, only weighing about 0.53 ounces. As such, you won’t even feel their presence even as you are using them. The inbuilt magnets make it possible to connect the two earphones together when they are not in use, which means you can wear them as a necklace.

Being IPX Level 4 to 6 Rated, the earbuds will survive dripping sweat, this while remaining perfectly comfortable to wear as you jog, run, drive or carry out any other activity that suits your fancy.

So wish you choose the one that you like.

      • Thanks for the info, very helpful. There are just so many different models now (even your SoundPEATS have 4) it's hard to tell which ones are more for utility (e.g. sweat proof) vs when I just want audio quality for money value.

  • Hey there, confused between Q30 and Q36. Which is better?

    • +1

From the sound quality and stability, Q30 PLUS would be a little better and it is IPX6, if you prefer bass, Q36 would be a little better.

  • Which is the best one out of all them?

    • +2

Q30 PLUS and Q12 are the star products of SoundPEATS, while Q36 and Force are newly published with some different features for themselves, Q36's bass would be better, and the Force has a neckband style of outlooking, which would be more stable while you're running.

      • Awesome for your work

      • Thank you pifts

      • Hey thanks, much appreciated.

Q30plus for me for the IPX6.

        • I ended up getting those too

        • +1

@Addictedtobargains: I found these IPX7 and bluetooth 5 but not available in Australia yet - https://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-Headphones-Soundcore-SweatG… maybe by the time I break these ones.

        • @BaryGusey:
          What's the difference?
          Says it ships to Aus.

Sorry I'm new to these types of headphones.

        • @Addictedtobargains: Amazon is a bit funny since the GST, it will say it ships but then fails at final stage or redirects to amazon Au. On the Amazon Au page there is no stock available? I don't know, you might be lucky.

IPX7 is a higher waterproof rating, Bluetooth 5 is a new standard. Presumably more power efficient and better latency.

I am new to them too, I usually use over ear headphones but I want something for sweating in/on and primarily for video watching rather than music. I expect they will not last so long under these conditions so don't wish to pay a premium. My main concern was lag, voices being noticeably out of sync with video and I am very happy with my testing so far. Have tried PC and NVidia shield and no problems at all.

So far I would say these are OK (Q30+). The sound at the higher end is kind of tinny and tops out on the s's so it sounds a bit grating on the voices in video. I wouldn't want to use them for my commute but for my purpose they are pretty good. The sound is actually quite decent apart from the high end. I am happy with them and will probably order a spare but haven't decided. I might try another pair of a different kind instead.

No way I would call these amazing but they are pretty good for what they cost.

        • @BaryGusey:

Oh ok. I don't shop much on amazon.

I have been looking a pair for a few months now and didn't want to spend heaps on a pair especially if just for the gym.

          Thank you for your help.

        • @BaryGusey:

Hey Bary..do you find your ear phones jumps (like a cd used to) every now and then?

        • @Addictedtobargains: Not really, I have had the one brief disconnect but the device I am connected to is always in front of me so far, not in my pocket. i have been testing them on my commute 3 - 4 hrs a day and I am thinking I might get a second pair. The only grievance is the tinny lisp thing at higher volumes but I can deal with that.

Re connection is really good too, like close the laptop, change trains, open it up again and it usually connects within seconds.

        • @BaryGusey:

That's pretty good. I'm yet to test it out on a laptop.

Other than the little jumps, they're actually pretty decent.

        • +1

@Addictedtobargains: Yeah - not amazing but not $400 either. They don't compare to similarly priced Xiaomi Pistons but those are wired. For bluetooth and sweatproof these are good value I reckon.

  • +1

Can anyone who owns a pair, vouch for the sound quality?

    • +1

I have a pair from last deal, here's my review I left on Amazon.

      ———————-

Unbelievable Bass from such small drivers! These In-Ear SoundPeats Q30 headphones will shake your brain… when it matters.
Fire up some hip-hop and you'll think you're at a concert, or in a car with 12" subwoofers, it's very surprising how much kick these little guys have.

Their use case is for exercise and fitness activities, to zone out from the world and into your workout. And they do just that, the silicone buds and wings create an excellent seal from the outside doubling as earplugs almost. Presumably, you'll be playing upbeat tempo tracks, and leaving your Opera mixes for another time when at the GYM, so being Bass focused headphones are a perfect match for the presumed music genres for a workout. You don't buy a Ferrari for Supermarket runs, or a Kia Carnival for Track day, so purchase these headphones for their primary use and therefore their presumed target music genre.

With that being said being bass heavy does come at a cost, and presumably, the mids can become lost amongst the thunderous boom of the bass. This isn't a concern in songs which you'll probably be listening to when working out that are kick dominant, driving your rhythm based on the bass, but on a Live track where the drummer isn't the star of the show, they become just that, sometimes getting in the way of the vocals.
Turn the headphones above 60% (which is actually quite loud, and on my phone [s9+] alerts of "high volume range" for headphones) and the High's will become quite pronounced, and at about 80% they'll break apart into a much harsher signal (possibly due to being battery operated). Listening at 80% volume for a long time would however probably render hearing damage as it's very loud. I have not pushed them to 100%. Their Sound Signature reminds me of the Sony Max or Extra Bass series, so quite close to a reputable company.

The Verdict, at their price point these headphones are a MUST have. At a comfortable listening volume, they'll provide exceptional sound quality for their price. Remember these are Bluetooth headphones, containing a rechargeable battery via Micro USB, inline music controls and microphone, 3 ear sized tips for a ridiculously low price. For me personally, these are a great addition to my headphone collection, one which ranges up to the $400 mark, so my expectations for audio is quite high, and here the SoundPeats Q30 hit the nail on the head for their target audience and purpose.

I just ordered the Q30+, and noticed you said there was heavier bass on the Q36, how noticeable is it between the two models?

    • Maybe you can try the Q30 PLUS

I bought the Q30 earphones quite some time ago and love them. Great sound and the earpiece is so comfy. They don't fall off at all when running and jumping. And Cheap.
I stopped using my jabra rox earphones cause of the horrible ear piece, they keep falling out of my ears. but i did love the sounds and the function where if you magnet the ear pieces together it would put the earphones to sleep and not drain the battery.

This is my go to now earphones if I ever need replacements or if I lose them. I unfortunately haven't tried the other ones since I usually stick to 1 when I'm quite happy with it.

  • +1

Bought 2. Cheers OP. Hopefully I don't have issues with these falling out. I've been scarred by in-ears in the distant past, even ones with the in-ear hook part, but at this price, it's hard to argue. Ease back into the in-ear market until I'm ready to fully accept them again. Haha, all the best.

Just thought I'd add that mine got delivered today, ordered on the 5th, delivered the 7th.

If they go alright with the video lag I'll have time to order a spare before the promo ends.
