Hardly a bargain! The cards involved annual fee
And not everyone can get the cheap fares!

      Seconded.

    The obvious questions are:
    - how many tickets can you buy at this price?
    - what would be travel dates and week days available at this price?
Only knowing the answers you would know if it's a bargain or not.

I once made a passenger want to smack the crap out of me on a Jetstar flight. We were discussing prices, she said 'I had to fly tonight so I had to pay $410 for this seat'. I pointed between her legs…this seat? She replies 'Yes'. I reply, pointing between my legs, '$16.56 including taxes'. She wasn't pleased…I then proceeded to rant (jokingly) about charging $4 or so for a coke when I paid $1 for the flight (excluding taxes).

this is not a bargain, spam

    • I agree.

  • IMO, it's not good marketing tactics that only particular associated CC holder can get this kind of bargain. Condition excludes almost majority of general customers so it doesn't appeal to general public. I don't believe people will sign up their credit card just because they want this cheap seat. Seat is very limited and restricted and not sure how it is genuinely available. To find out what benefit Jetstar MC provides, you can goodle it but it sounds not really highly recommended in the first place.

If Jetstar want to keep customers to come back, simply stick with dirt cheap flight deal or have some royalty program or sort (eg Velocity). This would be better than associated credit card. (And Jetstar MC doesn't even provide complimentary travel insurance.)

Sorry but not appealing at all including Jetstar MC.

  • Can hardly be a deal when there is no route information & travel period.

I have a jetstar card and have heard nothing of this (it's platinum no less). It is by far the WORST card I have ever had, and dealing with card services is a dreaded experience - that is if you can get further than understanding "george" or "will" introduce themselves in the most unintelligible accent possible. It must be a call center tactic not to have to deal with people. If you are thinking of applying, don't, as I have had nothing but trouble with them!

    • +1 for me too.
I thought Citibank's call centre was crap, but Card Services is many times worse! I only got the card for the flight voucher and 0% balance transfer. My card anniversary date is coming up soon, and I can't wait to throw it in the bin.

  • The Jetstar 1-cent fares need to go. I'm pretty sure you'll receive an SMS or an email about these if you're a Jetstar Mastercard holder.

Secondly these shouldn't be on OzBargain when clearly the majority of the population here don't own or cannot afford a Jetstar Mastercard.

  • They are usually 1 cent fares to places like Launceston, Adelaide, Hobart, Newcastle, for travel on Tue, Wed, Sat only.

All someone needs to do is post the link, then its a bargain.
