Ours is the same. We normally throw out half of whatever goes in his bowl because he won't eat it, but he tears through this stuff and then wants more.

My cat loved fancy feast, then few months ago he refused to eat it, contacted fancy feast and turns out they changed their supplier.
Exact same thing happened with our cat. Now I know why!

A 4.4 kg cat requires 4 cans a day ($2.32 per day), a 5.5 kg cat requires 5 cans a day ($2.90 per day).
This works out to be $1.86 and $2.32 respectively PER DAY for salty water.
Over a year, that's $678.90 and $846.8 for salty water for a cat.
