RRP is $1,899 do not much of a deal….

    • +1

What? $500 discount isn't much of a deal?

Don't forget to check out the Factory Outlet as well, there's some great deals there at the moment and even the refurbished models get a full factory warranty

  • Never thought tech would appreciate in value. What strange times…

You'd be better off getting the newer G5 or G7. 8th gen CPUs are a massive jump up in performance (the 8th gen i5 8300H outperforms the 7th gen i7 7700HQ), and a 1060 max q is a decent step up from a 1050Ti. Dell's implementation in the 7577/G5/G7 puts it close to 1060 performance without setting your hands on fire either.
    For $1439.20 you can get yourself a G5 with the i5 8300H, 1060 max q, 128GB NVMe SSD + 1TB HDD and 8GB of RAM. That's just a bit more than $100 for a pretty big upgrade

    • I agree that the CPU performance is a fair bit higher with the 8th gen chips, but in a gaming machine CPU power isn't that important.

Having said that, the deal above for the G5 is very decent indeed - the 1060 MaxQ is worth the extra cash alone.

  • Im looking for a half decent laptop so im curious abot the factory outlet, do you have a link?

    • +2

      Here's the link: https://www.dell.com/en-au/outlet

I've bought several PCs from there over the years - the service is excellent, fast postage, full warranty and the refurbished units I've seen are almost indistinguishable from brand new, except for the packaging.

      • Thanks man

Isn't this pretty much the same with the exception of 8gb of ram instead of 16?
