FAQs

Can I buy more than one of these SIM's?

You can stack up to 24 months of Lebara recharges. We recommend you buy this SIM pack plus up to three 180 day vouchers. Remember if you are on an existing Medium or Large plan, you can stack further but only up to 24 months maximum.

What about my existing plan?

If you are on any 30 Day Plan, your current plan will still be active until its expiry.

What Happens Next?

Once you make your purchase, we will send you an email with your new recharge PIN/s. Recharge is the same as always, i.e. sending an SMS to 126 172, logging in to My Lebara, or by calling us on 126 123.

Promotion Terms:Limit four per household. For personal use only. Special price applies to first use, subsequent recharges at current rates. SIMs must be activated within 60 days of purchase. No SIM swaps or credit transfer. No refunds. No shipment to PO box. Offers subject to change and may be withdrawn or extended. Not transferrable and not redeemable for cash.

Edit:
I called customer service just to check - if you are already on the Medium Plan for long term and stack with this, you'll be waiting to go through what you already have lined up to and then get to the 7GB.
eg. I joined earlier this March with 2 x 180 days voucher, add this voucher, I'll have to wait until next March for the 7GB kick in.

Edit 2:
I believe it was bonus data, but it's a permanent change so I erased that bit. Sorry for causing all this confusion, I should have just waited for a rep to make the post. orz

  • Perfect deal for me. Regularly scraping in with a few Mb left!Good stuff Lebara.

    • Hi Mkylpz

      Thanks for your kind comment.

We are glad you love our plans.

      Team Lebara

      • hate to jump in on the thread but because a rep has commented. The thing I HATE about lebara is that I cant even activate the sim online. I have to call up be on hold for 20-30mins because my address isnt listed on their website. And its not as if I live in the middle of nowhere. I mean wouldn't have thought it would be so difficult.

        • Hi, Apologies for any inconvenience. We can sort this out for you if you want to either privately message your details here or can have a chat with one of our care team members on www.lebara.com.au

        • @Outthere: Is it not possible to just use an arbitrary address to activate online and then correct the address later? (This method is being use by another provider)

        • @Outthere:

I spoke to the customer care team and they said they couldn't help. I bought it for my dad and then just waited on the phone for 30 minutes to get it done. the call centre person was helpful but really just a waste of resources.

      • Hi, sorry to hijack your answer
7GB is too little for me, any chance of doing the same deal for the 16GB one?
I can port out from VOD and I would like very much to get a 360 days sim package stacked with a 360 recharge voucher,
and get my mobile sorted for two years in one go

  • Does it use vodafone or optus

  • good deals

  • +1

Currently on the 90 day catch connect plan, if I buy now, how long do I have to activate it?

    • +1

From the terms: "SIMs must be activated within 60 days of purchase"

      • Thank you, guess this deal is no use to me right now.

        • it'll turn up again before then!

    • I just called Lebara, if you are on a medium plan with 5Gb and you add another medium plan with 7Gb, while you can stack, the 7Gb doesnt commence until after the first. The only way around this is to buy a new sim with a different number. The SIM activation doesnt apply yo stacking (I guess as you already have an activated SIM).

    • +5

      Hi Entropy,

Yes, Vouchers and SIms must be activated within 60 days of purchase.

But we surely can make an exception for you. Please PM your order number so we can increase your validity of voucher to 90 days.

      Thanks

      Team Lebara

      • Thank you, that is great service.
Like supabrudda said, I will wait till your next time doing this deal.
You might have it even cheaper :)

  • If anyone knows.. I can't find any pricing information on call forwarding? Am I missing what the price is for this function or is it included?

    • +1

Can confirm that it's included. Was using Call forwarding to my VoIP number while overseas

      • Would like to know how u do it, one thing Vodafone/Lebara to be me away is not receiving SMS / phone oversea.

    • Hi, this feature is already included.

  • +1

Thanks I been with them for awhile now had no real issues with calls a couple of issues with vouchers not working but was sorted . So just added the 360 deal so good for another year đź‘Ť

Thanks for posting this! My kogan prepaid plan runs out in a week’s time. Perfect timing.

    • Hi First in Line,

Thanks for showing your interest in our product.

We are looking forward to welcoming you in our Lebara family.

      Thanks

      Team Lebara

  • Does anyone know if I can port my existing number? And if so, how quick is the turn around?

    • +3

Yes and it’s within 10 mins last numbers I did from Telstra and 1from Vodafone
They have got a lot better than when they first setup

      • Thanks!

    • +1

Similarly I ported last year and its very quick

    • Hi Yrrehsx,

Yes, you sure can port your number. It usually takes 4 to 8 working hours, provided your details are correct, and you are not bound by a contract with your existing provider.

      Thanks

      Team Lebara

  • Hi all,
My existing medium plan expire in Feb 2019. Can I still stack this up with 360 plan? Thanks

    • up to 24months as in op discription

    • Hi Markymark77,

Yes. If you want to commit longer, you can stack your plan with one 360 day voucher and another 180 day voucher.

      Thanks

      Team Lebara

  • Hi all,
For international calling it has to be Libara Sim in other country?
I mean Libara to Libara ?

    • Lebara

    • +2

No. You can call to any number.

  • With stacking recharge, do you do it all at once to 24 mths max or as you almost run out of months?

If you get the yearly plan, does it mean you only can stack another 2 x 6 mths right away and the 3rd 6mth recharge can be added when you down to 18 mths left?

    • +1

The vouchers have an expiry period, but yes, if you purchase a voucher for the same plan later in the year, it'll just be added on top.

    • Hi Stonx,

We recommend you to recharge all at once.

      Thanks,

      team Lebara

      • Can i just stack with 2 x 360? Instead 1x360 + 2 x 180?

I'll be new customer to lebara porting from tpg.
I don't need to port out first right even though its voda to voda?

        • Hi Stonx,

          Yes you may.
However, you would need to port out to Lebara to use our service.

          It's a very straightforward procedure.

          Thanks

          Team Lebara

Can I activate it in December?

    • Same questions. I searched site FAQs(mobile version), could not find the answer.

      • I too have the same question. My Kogan expires in mid Dec.

    • +1
      • Thanks mate! My Kogan expires on 27 Nov, maybe it is not bad to buy this one.

    • Hi, Activation date is 60 days from the date of purchase.

  • +2

As a new customer, could I purchase and activate the $9.90 30 day SIM (https://www.lebaraonline.com.au/prepaid-medium-30day-sim.htm…) then recharge with the 360 before the 30 days are over?

    • Yes. Upto 24 months.

    • Thanks for pointing this out. I reckon this is the way I'll go as well.

      • Hello,

If I buy this starter pack, how simple is it to add the voucher and get 390 days (30 + 360)?

Is it impacted by the 60 day time period mentioned, or can vouchers be 'stacked' straight away?

        • +1

Hi, vouchers can be stacked straight away.

        • @Outthere:

          Thanks, much appreciated…
Already ordered… Will port once Kogan expires in 2 weeks.

    • Hi Flymetothemoon,

      Yes, you certainly can.

      Thanks

      Team Lebara

  • Guys these Plans are awesome. I put my partner on one of these plans, reception down here along the Mornington Peninsula is fine. Sometimes heading into the city it gets a bit busy and sometimes reception comes in and out but for the cost of the yearly subscription it is totally worth it.
I’ll be swapping from Telstra to one of these plans next year, sick of paying $59 per month tbh

    Does it have international roaming?

    • Currently, Lebara Australia SIMs do not support International Roaming to make calls from overseas to Australia.

      https://www.lebara.com.au/international-roaming

    • +2

an alternative is to use Whatsapp, Line, imessenger or Wechat if you are flying about, then use wifi or a local sim to access internet. It's a much more cost effective way to chat overseas.

      • +1

Yes. I do that when in Japan using a local day sim and i put a few $ onto skype to make local phone calls and sms to japanese mobiles or calls to landlines. Simples. Whatsapp works well. You can call anyone in your phone contacts who has whatsapp when your have a wifi or cellular data connection. I set up a whatsapp group for my friends and family and used it to post travrl observations I thought they would find interesting and only one left ;-)

        • Thanks. My requirement was about incoming calls. Outcalling calls can be managed with Skype or Whatsapp but incoming calls is an issue.

  • Can someone answer if we can buy this now and activate it in mid Dec? My Kogan plan expires in Dec.

    • Sorry, no. You have 60 days to activate the sim, and it seems like this is 2GB bonus data until November 30.
I'm not sure if that means that you can only redeem before November 30th to get 7GB or purchase the voucher before November 30 and redeem in December. I'm guessing it's the former.

    • +2

      Hi Virhlpool,

We can make an exception or you and extend your expiry period.

Please make your purchase and share your order number so we can extend the expiry of the voucher.

      Thanks

      Team Lebara

      • -3

Thanks. Can I get activation date extended to 10th Jan 2019? That's when I will be back in the country from Dec holidays. Also, I didn't understand your comment about stacking up - if I buy 360 days plan, can I also buy another 180 days plan and make it a 1.5 yrs plan? How does it work? What are the steps involved in moving from Kogan to Lebara from activating perspective?

        • Hi, you need to purchase a long term starter pack and follow activation steps on our website www.lebara.com.au. While activating your Lebara sim you need to select an option to port your Kogan number. Port usually takes 4 to 8 business hours and once it is complete you may apply your long term vouchers. You can stack up to 24 plans at a time. Please privately message us your details and we will see what best we can do for you. Thank you.

      • Can you extend mine too? I have pm you

  • +1

Hey may someone tell me whether these guys progressively increase/update your data allowance during the 365 day period? Kogan does this, pre paid plan started out at 4GB or something and is now 7GB.

    • This is 2GB bonus data and not an actual upgrade of the plan, unfortunately.

      • +1

        Hi Kurulii,

This is a standard inclusion and not a bonus.

This will likely to remain the same in future.
        Thanks

        Team Lebara

        • +1

Kogan regularly increases the data allowance of the existing customers (without any additional charges) for which they have won many hearts. Any plans Lebara may do it too?

  • +1

Ha ha, I was wondering about international SMS, then clicked on link to see “Unlimited text to 0 countries”. LOL

    • +1

      Hi Quarrymaster,

This plan comes with unlimited SMS to 60 countries.

      Thanks

      Team Lebara

      • Hi Team Lebara,

Sorry if this was not clear before but does this plan include calls and SMS to landlines, mobiles and special numbers in International countries or just calls and SMS to landline numbers in other countries.

Looking for a plan with calls and text to Australian landline, mobile and special numbers as well as International countries (and not just landlines in International countries).

      • so basically the medium plan is now the same to large plan in terms of International SMS?

what is the definition of international SMS ($0.15/SMS) under what's not included value?

      • Which countries? Can you please provide a link to the list please. Thanks!

  • Does anyone know if this ongoing or does it have a cut off date?

    • From their website:
"Hurry, Price Discount Expires 19th September 2018"

    • Price discount: 19th September
Redeem for 2GB bonus data: within 60 days of purchase or 30th November, whichever is earlier.

      • I didn't see the condition about the 2gb bonus data. Where did you see it?

      • +1

        Hi Kuruii,

7GB is a standard inclusion and not a bonus.

        Thanks

        team Lebara

  • Thanks and apologies for "boys look"!

  • Like timnkoo asked,

Those who are currently on the 5GB medium plan, did they automatically upgrade to 7GB with no extra charges?

As he said, this happened with Kogan.

    Thank you.

    • +1

Unfortunately, no. Turns out that this is 5GB + 2GB bonus data until November 30. Not an upgrade to the plan.

      • Thanks for your answer :)

        • We got confirmation from rep, it's standard after all.

        • @kururii: So if I am currently on the 5GB plan I get upgraded to 7GBs?

    • +1

      No.

  • If it is $169 for 360 days then it is $14.28 per month:

    $169 / 360 x 365 /12

    $169 / 360 = 0.469444 x 365 = $171.347222 per year so / 12 = $14.28 per month.

  • +1

Excellent deal. I would of gotten this but my Kogan plan doesn't expire until January next year. Hopefully there is another deal before then as I like the International inclusions with Lebara.

    • I am also the same situation.

  • +1

Hows the vodafone network these days? Sydney metro

  • Good deal but there is still a bit of confusion about the bonus 2GB deal till 30 Nov. I'm currently on a medium plan and my stack of vouchers expire in August next year. If I activate this latest deal now (i.e. add it to my stack), does this mean I get a bonus 2GB for Oct and Nov? Or does the 2GB bonus gets locked in for 360 days as long as I activate it before 30 Nov? Or does it mean that I miss out entirely on the bonus 2GB as my current stack doesn't run out until August next year? Any reps able to answer? Cheers
