For $900, I would prefer to get a phone or tablet or a budget laptop.

    • +8

All of these will decline in value..

        • +47

good thing you let everyone know your preference on this thread then….

        • Cool story bro

        • +12

I am not a fan of BennyHe2018, so this comment makes no sense to me.

        • A why did you look at a Lego deal? Lol.

        • I'm not a fan of Star Wars, but I would love to build this.

      • +1

I presume this will only hold value if unopened…

        • +2

It may hold value if unopened.

        • +1

If unopened it will probably increase in value.

        • +3

One thing I learnt from personal experience while collecting toys are:

          1. Storage space while waiting years for the price to appreciate; and

          2. Postage cost to get it to your buyer.

Something this big really gives problems for both points. Not to mention at that price it would be hard to find someone else who'd be willing to pay that kind of money for it.

If people are already thinking twice about buying it when this about $1,000, imagine those who'd buy it for $1,600.

      • +3

Damn, good price, I got mine when it was released and paid a lot more.

Sounds like these decline in value too (comment below)

        • +2

You have to wait untill they are not produced anymore.

  • Myer also has 25% off Lego, but nothing that large / expensive.

  • +11

    Thanks OP, got 4

    • 4?? #brodened

    • +2

You've just saved up for a free set

  • Damn, good price, I got mine when it was released and paid a lot more.

  • +2

    I've got a good feeling about this…

    • I see what you did there.

  • -8

Wow, and here I was thinking Apple products were overpriced! Must be some LEGO fanboys out there.

    • +8

      no to china fakes

    • 2235 pieces less, must have been hit by Tusken Raiders.

      • +2

No way the Lepin version will do 12 parsecs.

    • Bit pricy for a fake.

    • Lepin is terrible quality and you really notice the difference. I built the old UCS falcon with Lepin and then with Lego. Lego quality is far superior. Lepin easily falls apart and often doesn't fit together nicely

      • Lepin fits nicely with my wallet though.

      • Is the Lepin really that much worse? I read some reviews/watched some videos online and whilst the quality is not as good as Lego reviews said it was 90-95% of the quality for 20% of the price!

        • +1

I build the new usc falcon with lepin and it was fine. the only bad part was the blue plastic tubing for the engine, but if you trim it to size with scissors, it works fine.

        • From my experiences I would give it about a 60% to 70% at best. While the pieces are very similar looking, they don't fit together anywhere near as nicely. And it seemed the measurements were quite out when putting together a big set like this.
The leg stands also didn't stay in without the use of glue for some legs. And a number of pieces underneath would fall off very easily. You get what you pay for though with Lepin. Quality is not to be expected though.

        • I'm currently near the end of my Lepin 05132 build. It is of very good quality. The Blue tubes need to be tweaked. You need to trim them then remove the black connector and make a slit in the tube then push them together. They will then join and look like one whole piece. Some of the rods that make the guns can be a little loose. The stud shooter that Chewie holds doesn't work until you tweak it, but it can easily be fixed. All in all I'd say 95% of Lego quality for 25% the cost.

      • I built the whole lepin falcon. Not a single piece fell off. The only noticeable difference in quality compared to my mate's lego falcon is in the blue engine tubing. That shit is terrible on the lepin set. Everything else worked fine, although I suspect it's a real roll of the dice as far as quality goes.

    • Lepin is a pretty scummy company that doesn't just rip off Lego, but even smaller AFOL designs.

Wow staff discount and gift cards

    omgogmso %% off.

too bad I have one already

  • +3

This is life-size, and fully operational, right? 😇

    • Hyperdrive doesn't work.

      • Go grab the hydro spanner!

I'm curious about this product… do people buy it and put together, or just keep it NIB in a glass display and admire it?

    • +13

I just admire it at the store.. saving me $$$

      • +1

You should just admire the photos, saves you a ride to the shops.

    • +1

I put 4 table legs under it and eat pizzas off it while re-watching Star Wars…

  • +4

    awesome, just bought 2

  • Thanks OP. Paid $874.25 ($830 if cash rewards 4.5% is registered) using 10% Gift Cards. Hard to beat this price. Now i have to decide whether i open it or keep it for resell in future.

    • Where can you get 10% off gift cards?

      • My work has some kind of rewards gateway with discounts on multiple stores.

        • Sweet!

      • Entertainment Book portal is another

  • Bought 2!

  • +1

Hmmm, LEGO or an overseas trip? Hmmmmmm…..

    • +4

      Bali ain't that great.

  • +2

Sweet picked one up as well.

Just to note that I was in Bourke St and Chaddy and noticed all the physical boxes were absolutely tattered. So if anyone is picking up from these stores make sure you don't get one of these/request them to re-order a mint one of you care about the packaging!

    • +2

      Are they scruffy looking?

      • +1

The Bourke St ones had holes in them……

    • Might be worth bargaining the price down further in that case.

Bought a large lego set from Target a while ago, box was smashed got a $50 discount on top of the existing.

    • I got a few from chaddy the boxes came from out the back mine were mint

    • FYI we can't order them… don't be that person asking that because you will get a no as well as really annoying the cashier…. if you aren't happy we will happily return for this reason but accept that you are losing the item (ps I don't know what you mean by scruffy but the chady ones are fine)

  • This literally is $900 worth of plastic

    • A credit card has less plastic and may be worth more!!!!

    • +5

      or literally, $974.25 worth.

  • "Sorry, this colour / size combination is not currently available."

    • And now even OFF THE SHELF. Cannot find this in the catalogue

      • The catalogue is for Homewares

        • Thanks for guide.
You're quite right to those direct access by clicking that affiliated photo, although ADD to BAG button 'hidden'.
But when I entered via Cashrewards portal, or even click 'LEGO' directory in the direct access page, UCS Falcon must disappear.
Anyway, I didn't mean in a haste, just trying through the cashback portals after I got my technic gift yesterday

  • No longer available??? Added to my cart.. went into cart… says no longer available.

    • Probably.
Really fulfilled as First Reach, First Serve

  • +2

Darn, got out of stock just after I bought discounted gift cards, LOL. I could have bought it outright with just the cashback, got too greedy :P. At least the gift cards have a 33-month expiry!

    • People are usually motivated by jealousy and greed.
How much do you have for the balance?

  • David Jones, out of stock? What? Impossible!

    • Damn. Payday is tomorrow.

      • For David Jones, it's today.

  • Bargain price. I got mine for $1,040 and thought that was amazing.

    • Haha same.

Mine is sitting in a box waiting to be built.

      • Are you nerf herding?

        • Not sure what that is

Edit: NERF herder. ESB reference. What the hell is that?

          Thought it was nerve hurter.

    • Can you let me know where you got yours? I've been after one for ages and am devo I missed this sale!

  • -1

Just because I haven't get my pay yet, I missed it!!!
    LOL~~~

    • Every OzBargainer should have a contingency fund for moments like these

      • +4

If the guy doesn't have 1k cash on hand, then he shouldn't be buying a 1k Lego set.

        • Absolutely correct and good life advice too.

  • was in a meeting. missed this. spewing.

    • Hey man. My online order got cancelled this morning. But I went into the Bourke st store at lunch and they had plenty. Give it a shot?

      • Does Bourke St had stock? planning to buy it after work

        • +1

Had 21 units as of 3pm yesterday

      • im in sydney

        • Market Street might have some if you call up and ask to pop one on hold for you

        • @kerfuffle:
i saw online it popped up then it disappeared. Thanks for the info.

the special offer is until 7th Oct. Maybe more stock will pop up (they will probably exclude the Falcon by then)

        • @cumova: Yeah, it was excluded in the 20% off LEGO (along with the Bugatti Chiron) that ended a few days ago. If you're that keen for one, call up after the store opens at 9:30 tomorrow morning.

  • Combine with those 40% off DJ gift cards from AMEX Vogue offer.

    • +1

      What offer is this???

    • yes mate, please help us & elaborate on how to attain said 40% off DJ gift cards?

      • Too late now. That offer has ended. It was the Amex vogue offer, spend 50, get 20 back. Just buy giftcards with that offer activated and wait for a sale like this. Could do it on as many Amex cards and supps that you had.

        • oh ok cool. good idea for those forward thinking enough to buy $1k+ worth of gift cards in one go! haha…. that wasn't me unfortunately!

btw, DJ's in Queens Plaza Brisbane City still had stock. I just bought one an hour ago. There was still 3 left showing on the cashiers system.

1 box was on display & it's quite badly damaged tho! just beware!
