Q: what's the difference between a BMW and an echidna?
A: An echidna has the pricks on the outside.

I've never seen a single comment achieve 350 negative votes before or since.

That's amazingly bad, and user never returned after that thread.

        • Jeez -350 votes and he hasn’t made a comment since… is he still around lol

I just bourght a 10 year old Porsche Cayman for roughly the same price as this thing. Dated as hell and wouldn’t ride as well as the BMW. But at least it shouldn’t depreciate much. Cars are such money pits.

    • +18

      Cool story bro.

    • Where I live, these Porsche Caymans are quickly becoming the all new car of choice for cashed up, neck tattoo sporting, tight t-shirt wearing, chunky gold chain over the shirt, big gold rings on fingers meth merchant bogans.

They have all moved on from the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT and into old Porsche Caymans…

      • Serious. Not good. Might go back to the ND Miata then. Cayman is such a perfect drivers car though. Only thing that could beat it would be a Lotus Elise. But they are too rough to daily. Renault sports are going down the toilet aswell.

    • +1

I feel like a 10 year old car is at the point where you can spend more on maintenance than the purchase cost quite quickly

Why not a 5 year old BMW for 30k.

  • -1

Thanks op used PAYGRADE for further 10% off

  • How do these compare to the Audi A4 B9 cars?

    • Audi now look nearly identical to their poor cousin VW. Bad strategy…

Merc on the other hand is looking very appealing.

I am still sticking with Rangie for a family SUV.

  • +1

Any Tesla deals? BMW is old hat.

    • +1

yep, no more free charging when you buy a tesla

  • +2

BMW's sales are tanking because they have always relied on the 3 series to pay the bills …. but now that SUV's are in fashion , and sedans are not , this = a big problem for them.

    • wat about the bmw SUV type offerings? not well regarded?

      • I spent 10 years working for BMW ,sales are down on all prestige cars ,as owners have woken up to the massive deprecation that they get hit with when they want to trade in.

BMW SUV's are Ok , but way overpriced compared to the competition ,if you have $65,000 to spend on an SUV buy a Toyota Prado , it will never go wrong , and probably the best car in the country for re sale value.

        • The Prado's are no cheaper than the BMW, but does look like they hold their value better. I'm impressed.

It have to be awfully well finished to pay that find of money for it though.

If I ever buy another car it will have a 7 year warranty… I hope.
From what I hear of Toyota, they should have 7 year warranties - they don't seem to have as much confidence in their cars as some of their fans

  • +2

Just FYI, the G20 (new 3 series) is most likely being announced at the Paris show next month, this will be obsolete very soon.

    • +1

      you're using "obsolete" wrong

      • When a new model comes out and replaces an existing model and they stop producing the old model, it's obsolete… although by Ozbargain standards maybe it's not obsolete if you can still drive it!

But seriously, with the new model announced they're obviously just trying to do a run out sale.

        • That’s not correct, just because a new model comes out, does that mean the old model can no longer do it’s intended job of driving? It becomes out dated, not obsolete

  • +1

    Park Distance Control

Surely they can at least include a reversing camera for this price.

  • -2

    Is it AMG bruh?

    • +1

Think you came into the wrong post. This one is for Westpac… the Macquarie one is over there.

  • +1

Thanks Op. Wife said I could buy anything on OzBargain for this week.

  • Need good deals on the 440i's

  • You'll probably need an Aldi torque wrench with your shiny new BMW

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/405265

  • Be aware - no band 28!!

  • Can't find reviews on seller on eBay. Looks dodgey

  • I'm waiting for XiaoMi version.

  • I already got four from the last deal. Do I need one more?

  • No thanks, C Class shits over 3 Series.

  • Would anyone really care about the “extras” you paid for shadow or luminance come resale time ? Really ?

  • This is pretty much an ongoing deal. It’s been this price for a year now.

    • pretty $hit deal no reg no stamp duty
can get a new 330 on the road with negotiating for 63-64k

      • Don't know why you were negged.

Those aren't great value: 7,000kms on them (could have been hard Ks), add in stamp duty $2k, Rego & CTP $1k, 1 year missing from the new car warranty and they've both got some slight damage in terms of scratches & stone chips.

So like for like you're looking at 7k less and used. You could probably negotiate even further off this deal price at BMW.

        • If I understand how dealerships work, this deal is sponsored by the manufacturer, the dealer still has their full profit margin to negotiate with

  • This isn't that good of a deal. I got almost the same deal on a 328i M Sport more than 3 years ago and not at the end of the product lifecycle. Similar options too from the looks of it.

  • Das is Auto

  • Does it come with indicators as standard or is that an optional extra?

  • +1

    Screw the westpac job

You get a FREE BMW if you get this area manager gig here at Aldi.

    https://www.news.com.au/finance/work/careers/171000-plus-bmw…

  • A Kia signer GT twin turbo will blow this away both in terms of luxury features and performance, and leave money in the bank.

  • Does anyone know how to turn off the warning message when you start the car? I think you need to code it through the OBD, but might affect the warranty?
