  • Is this going to work with Macbooks smaller than 15”?

    • +2

      Hi pizzaguy,

Yes, it will work with Macbooks. I've updated the detailed info from their website. It is compatible with the 15 inch as well, but will charge the computer at a slower rate.

  • Sorry, ignore. Has stock when ordering online even for C&C.

    • +1

There wasn't any stock available at my local store, but I selected 'extended delivery' for pickup at Dee Why, so I guess they'll move the stock around.

      Hope that helps.

      • +1

Hahah sorry, yeah that was just for buying in store I think. Online orders still have stock. Thanks anyway!

Oh for anyone else - I edited my comment after I realised ^.

  • +1

Thanks OP, didn't have stock in my store, but was still able to click and collect, with estimated date of collection on October 16th.

  • +3

I got one of these for work and it died after about 2 months. The replacement has been ok so far.

    Hold onto your receipts.

  • +1

    Thanks OP!

  • +3

Thanks OP, great price for a spare MacBook charger! For anyone interested, Officeworks were selling these for $79 before the clearance!

  • +1

    Snapped, thanks.

  • Never heard of Comsol. Is the brand reliable? Looks like a great price.

    • +8

From my experience, It’s a cheaper but okay known brand for accessories. Considering a USB-C cable alone can cost more, I figured it was a great value buy. It comes with a 12 month warranty and Officeworks are pretty good with their warranty policy, so I thought it was a low risk purchase- should be good!

    • Been around for years and years.

    • -5

About the same quality as Chinese junk you can get on eBay, but Officeworks charges 50x more.

  • Good price for a spare charger, thanks!

  • Thanks OP, ordered one for C&C. Don't actually need this right now but for less than $20 why not :).

  • thks grabbed 2 for c&c ….hope they don’t respond with out of stock or something……

  • +2

All stores nationwide are showing as 1 being instock besides Orange in NSW and Joondalup in WA which have 4. I suspect OW have made an error in their stock levels and there are infact none to very little available.

So if you're going to take the chance by ordering be prepared for waiting several weeks for a refund.

  • anyone knows, if it will charge Lenovo Yoya 920 with Usb C charger?

    • +2

      It should mate,

Lenovo Yoga 920 uses 45w to charge, so 60w should do the trick

      • +1

Great. Wanted to confirm if it wont blow it. Just hope I wont plug my phone to it.

        • Why not plug your phone into this charger?

          • @ozhunter68: Isn't it too much for the phone? Haven't done it.

            • +5

@EnALup: Your phone won't draw more power than it can take, even if it's available (unless the charger is very poorly designed)

            • +3

@EnALup: Not at all. The phone will only take what it needs up to the maximum which depends on both the charger and cable used, as well as how much your particular phone can charge at max power.

Keep in mind that this has two outputs, usb C with a max of 60w output AND a regular usb A max output 2A @ 5v / 10w which you can connect many various cables in to suit your device type.

              • +1

@ozhunter68: Can confirm that this is true based on my experience - i regularly use my usb c Apple 60w charger to charge my Nokia phone with no issues. Also, that Apple charger charges Dell's XPS series laptops that have USB-C ports. I bought one of this simply because this is a really good deal - i can travel with this and not worry about losing my apple charger.

  • +1

    Basically no stock everywhere unfortunately.

  • +2

Apparently the orders are on "backorder"

    • With delivery dates of 12-16th of October you would assume so, heck the bulk order might still be on the way here from China lol.

      • +1

Nothing wrong with a back order…….Comsol might be clearing the decks. Haapy to wait

        • True, not for a bargain anyway.

I ordered one too, but as I live 40 klm -55 klm away in between two stores, I went for the store I will be near next Wednesday thinking it will be there.

Then after placing order see it will arrive there in three weeks, if I knew that I would have got it sent for CC to other store.

Delivery to my door was quoted as $25.80, so that was not an option.

    • Hi rep, happy to wait for the stock. Delivery info on the site says "Standard Free Next Business Day Delivery is available for orders to selected areas of Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Darwin and Hobart. Orders under $55 incur a $5.95 delivery fee"

But when I try to place an order with delivery to Darwin CBD 0800 it says "country delivery" with a fee of $25.95

      Is that right?

      • I'd suggest calling the 1300 OFFICE number and try placing the order over the phone. I imagine they'd be able to rectify or at least explain the pricing.

  • Will this charge a switch? With USB-pd?

    • Slowly, yes.

  • Look forward to my cancellation email

  • +1

Will this charge the newer iPhones that are quick charge enabled?

    • +5

Yes by spec it will do Power Delivery (PD) Fast Charging at max 18W, but you gotta buy one of the Apple original Type C to Lightning cables
Apple has started licensing 3rd party manufacturers to make these cables earlier this year but no product has come out yet, surely there will be cheaper alternatives by 2019

    • +4

Probably, although you never can tell what standards Apple choose to support.
Of course you'll need a cable which - of course - costs more than this charger!

      • Ah yes, I forgot about the need to factor in their cable too!

  • +2

What a great deal, ordered three for $59.95 delivered!

  • +1

Definitely did not need another one of these but for $18 C&C could not pass one up. Thanks OP.

  • +2

Thanks OP grabbed 2 c&c I’ve got a hp spectre

  • Purchased!

Blacktown - Click and Collect Available Mid October (Currently Out of STock)

  • Do we need to order this? Or can I rock up in store after the 11th and grab one?

    • +1

I highly doubt Officeworks would be selling cancellation emails in-store.

      …still hoping I receive mine though. :)

  • +3

Thanks OP, great for travelling, can just take the one charger for Phone and Macbook :)

Until it decides to crap itself on day one of your travels..

Hope I did not just jinx it :|

      • +1

I'ld only use it going somewhere around Aus, easy enough to go into a store in Aus to find a good replacement, as we know the names of stores which are good value.

Overseas I tended to trust taking individual official chargers and use an adapter, also charging from power banks majority of the time. I have had to use some really janky wall plugs in Florence that I thought for sure it was going to surge my gear, so just charged up my power bank from the wall, then my phone from the bank.

      • Until it decides to crap itself on day one of your travels..

My genuine Microsoft Surface charger crapped itself while I was travelling. One data point doesn't mean all of them will fail. :)

  • error on checkout

    • Their website went down, should be back up now.

  • Would this charge the Xiaomi Mibook air 13' ok?

    • Should power/charge that fine.

  • +1

Thanks OP. This should work well on the Dell XPS 15

    • Wouldn't this be really slow to charge the XPS 15?

      • It would be slow if you're charging from 0, but if it's going to be plugged in while you're using it for a while it's good enough depending on how heavy your workload is

  • +2

Been waiting for one of these for my XPS 15, thanks!

    • Can you charge the XPS 15 with just 60W - what is the minimum W? The one shipped is 130W.

      • It works. Just charges a lot slower.
The one that ships with XPS 15 uses a proprietary handshake, therefore if you wanted to ensure you got full charging you will need to buy Dell branded one.

Even if you got a 87W Apple USB-C charger, the PD negotiation would only allow it to charge at 60W.

  • Now unavailable online

    • I can add it to my cart at the moment - Guess it's back up

  • All gone people, “Out of stock” and it won’t let you check out.

  • +4

Just received order cancellation and refund - probably due to out of stock (unless pricing error?)

    • Yeah I got my order cancelled as well- no explanation- just a PayPal refund 😫

      • The annoying thing is, if I knew this would happen - I would've looked for a store with it in stock (like I was doing) and gone in to buy in person.

        • +2

You would then have been annoyed when every store you went to said "it's out of stock". :)

          • @eug: Hahahah oh I'd (hopefully…….) be smart enough to call up the store beforehand and check. And then if they're still out of stock when I got there I'd just burn it all down be justifiably upset.

    • Same. PayPal refund. 😞

    • Officeworks Ltd has just sent you a partial refund of $18.00 AUD for your purchase.

      Yup.

If you have any questions about this refund, please contact Officeworks Ltd.

My question is: how is this possible (because sloppiness?) and how to make it a pain to Officeworks, so perhaps one day they don't oversell?

      • +2

Sloppiness, someone forgot to update inventory system, inventory system crashed, someone stole a pallet off the back of a truck, etc.

There's no real way to make it a pain to OW - they already have CS staff on set hours and wages, so all you'll end up doing is make trouble for them. Honestly, move on and wait for the next deal.

This would've been a nice pick up though - could've charged everything from my laptop to my phone to my switch.

  • Yep. Same here. Cancelled and refunded

  • Yeah. Cancelled n refunded too

  • Ditto……..mine was cancelled today. Ah well worth a try as past orders that were out of stock were sourced and received (different items)! Was to be expected so not a big disappointment.

  • they cancelled mine as well, anyone managed to pick one up?

  • Triple ditto here just saw my cancellation!

  • Mine also got canceled 😪

  • Cancelled here too

  • cancelled :(

  • Yep, had my order for three cancelled.

  • Mine was just cancelled too. Spewing.

  • mine cancelled too

  • Cancelled just now. :-(

  • Mine got cancelled.

  • Got cancellation email :(

  • 10:23am :(

    We've refunded your order

    Dear Adam,

Unfortunately, we've had to cancel and refund your order.

We have been unable to source additional quantities of these items, making them no longer available for purchase.

We've provided an itemised list below and refunded the total amount of your order, $18.00.

    We apologise for the inconvenience.

    Which account has been refunded?

We've refunded $18.00 to the Visa card you used to make your original purchase.

  • Did anyone actually get this unit at this price? What a steal!

  • Got the cancellation email - any cheap alternatives for this?

  • -1

It seems this was a blatant bait and switch to get people to create Officeworks accounts and signup for their newsletter.

Not one person has said they got their orders. This was live on their website for a very long time so the excuse of suddenly nil stock seems way too convenient.

    • Already had an account like many but perhaps you are right. I will note in the past they have fulfilled orders that were back orders so will give them the benefit of the doubt this time myself.
