    Seiko Mini Turtle $299

The Leonardo version or the Donatello?

That Citizen Eco-Drive Black AU1080-38E is a sweet deal at $99. Citizen Australia list it as $325!!

    • Hi PJC, hey going Mate?
Sorry to bother but whats the difference between
Seiko Prospex Samurai Auto SRPB99K PADI $379.00 shipped
      VS
Seiko Automatic SRPB53K Prospex Divers Watch $399.00 shipped

      Cheers to WatchNerd. Legend!

      • +8 votes

Both have ISO 6425 Certification because the dials say DIVER's. The Samurai's appeal is increased by being a Professional Association of Diving Instructors Limited Edition. Also the price reduction is greater for the Samurai and stainless steel straps are generally more expensive than the silicone adorning the Prospex. It seems neither product page discloses which movement is inside. If both watches feature the same movement, my opinion is the PADI is a better bargain.

    • Because of you i spent $99 on another watch i didn't need :(

By the power vested in me it is my solemn duty to hereby absolve you of all blame and any residual guilt concerning the essential acquisition of this premium inexpensive horological masterpiece.

      • Me too. I might keep it for Xmas gift for someone. Or birthday

That Citizen Eco-Drive Black AU1080-38E is a sweet deal

      Everything WatchNerd posts is sweet.

A great selection and thank you for providing all the specs.

  • Thanks OP!

  • Felt a bit excited seeing the word Presage thought it is the Cocktail Time in this price….

  • Is that the cheapest the samurai one has been?

  • Thanks as always, WatchNerd.

  • Hmm, decision decision..

  • Thanks WatchNerd. Starbuy's deals just keep getting better and better. What a time to be alive.
    It's time to celebrate!

  • The AU1080 models use an 18mm strap, i swapped it out for a Hirsch 18mm.

    • Yeah, i bought the white 1080 watch last deal for my fiance. We replaced the NATO band with a few 18mm white leather bands

  • Pulled the trigger on the 1080-38E

Now.. Which band should I buy?

    • +8 votes

Watch companies nearly always get the watch+strap combo right. It will arrive soon; wear it a week or two before spending extra on a replacement. You might end up appreciating it and saving money.

    • If you like leather have a look at Barton watch bands. Not cheap, but it is top grain leather, not the fake 'genuine' leather most places sell

    Nice new avatar

  • Waiting for a Casio E Bluetooth…please

  • I have more watches than shirts ๐Ÿ˜„… do i need one more … …,mmmmmm

  • Hey guys, for the Seiko 34.2mm Presage SRP887J Auto Sapphire is this a men's watch or ladies? Doing a google search it shows women's models? Thanks for your help

    • The size is generally regarded as a ladies watch.

    • A few weeks ago, I was in the same boat as yourself and trying to decide. After a lot of research I found the Seiko SRP691J which is considered to be the male sizing variant. The easiest way to decipher the difference is to see where the date/time complication; the male variant does not overlap the 3 o'clock position.
FYI - currently wearing the SRP691J and is my daily driver. Stunning watch and sits perfectly under a shirt and blends well with near anything that I wear.

  • Any deals on Seiko Prospex SRPC93K Save The Ocean Divers?

  • Does the SRPB41J ever go on sale anywhere?

  • Would the Seiko Prospex Samurai Auto SRPB99K PADI not be suitable for a guy with thin wrists? I'm 6"1 but only weigh 68kgs thus have reasonably thin arms and wrists.

    • Measure the circumference of your wrist, would be better indicator.

    • I'm 1.8m tall and 73kg and it just fits my wrist, though like the other person said, it depends more on your wrist circumference and shape. I believe mine are 17cm. Most jewellery shops that sell watches have this watch in my experience. Your best bet is to go down and try one on just to confirm.

  • Anyone have a spare 5% code they can PM me?

  • thanks! got the Citizen Eco-Drive Chrono CA0590-58E , looks nice and solid, I ended up checking Edifice too cause they look very nice, but this Citizen looks a good compromise for everyday use being classy and sporty at same time.

    wonder why i can't vote the deal….

That's a distinguished, masculine chrono. Do you get an error message?

    • Bought the Citizen Eco-Drive Chrono CA0590-58E, and got it in less than 5 biz days.
Arrived with all boxes and packaging.

Watch looks same if not better than in photo, easy to operate (still reccomend to read the instructions), belt is easy to adjust without tools (I used a blunt sewing needle, just push according to the arrow), I have a medium wrist and watch sits well.
It's on the heavier side and is big but not too big.
      Chrono easy to operate.
Only downside is, while red and black is a very stylish pattern of Colors, makes this watch not easy to read at night (I honestly assumed was coming with some kind of lumen), but this is really hating to point out something.
I'm very happy, feels definitely a pricy watch well crafted.
I got it as an everyday watch, and is better than I was expecting.
Thanks Watch Nerd for this post and all the others you take the time to publish and to share your know how.

Leaving this comment as a review and reference

      • Useful to know. Well done.

      • Thanks for the review. I did mention that it doesn't have any lume in the description.

        • Definitely was my bad about the Lume, i didn't notice and didn't actively search for info about that(and missed your note in the description),

And going in details is not even about lume, is the fact the arms don't contrast much from the background and in dim light it require a bit to angle the watch reflecting enough light to see the arms.
Probably a brighter red line or thicker is just what would have helped here.

But this is really trying to pick on something.

I really like it as it is.

  • got a Seiko Prospex Samurai Auto SRPB99K PADI

  • You're the best WatchNerd

  • Cheers OP :)

    I have grabbed a Eco-Drive AW1410-32X.

I will be able to do commando rolls and hide in the bush with it!

  • Like if you thought the title meant "Big watches" sales

  • That PADI Samurai tempts me but not a fan of the wavy dial, I prefer the waffle pattern on the other Samurais

  • Thoughts on the Seiko Presage SSA250J Two Tone Stainless Steel?

    • +2 votes

That is not an easy watch to find. This similar model featuring rose gold and batons is reduced from the Japanese equivalent of $684. I suggest the SSA250J is more masculine because its gold is yellow, and more distinguished because Roman numerals around the Open Heart afford greater refinement than batons. Yet the dial is less busy due to fewer minute indices on the periphery. $269 is indeed excellent value for such a distinctive Open Heart Automatic with a sapphire glass window. Such an opportunity may never recur.

  • fantastic prices Watchnerd!

  • Thanks again WatchNerd and PJC. Much appreciated. Pulled a trigger for Seiko Prospex Samurai Auto SRPB99K PADI. Can't wait to see it.
    Cheers

  • Is the SNE499P PADI a good price to buy now? It's only $10 diff to the SRPB99K PADI and it's a quartz, but I've always wanted a tuna can altho this is not a real one. Any suggestion guys?

  • Waiting on the Citizen CA4210-16E but very tempting deals indeed.

  • Great deals, I like the watch. Thanks for sharing.

  • Is there anything similar to the SRP887J that has a larger watch face, it also says it is a womans watch elsewhere (although mens on this site). I really like the minimalised style.

  • Ugh, can't make my mind up whether I wanna spend the cash on the SRPB99K… Chances of it going on sale @ this price by the end of the year?.. or do I just bite the bullet and get it now because the price is pretty good

    • +1 vote

Be detached. The right decision will come to you. I cannot find a lower price for the SRPB99K and Shiels currently charge $775. It is most unlikely this PADI Limited Edition's price will reduce. A timepiece of this calibre may well become a family heirloom.

      • Well said, I'll sleep on it tonight and make my decision in the morning, will update with my decision (review?) soon.

  • Thanks Op I have been after a Seiko Aston for a year or so, and finally pulled the trigger on SSE096J.

    https://www.starbuy.com.au/seiko-astron-gps-titanium-ceramic...

I am still not sure whether itโ€™s wise to spend this much on a Seiko instead of a Swiss watch.

Anyone can share his opinion on this watch?

  • Do the turtle and samurai Seikos have a particular collectability? If I was to get a single iconic Seiko divers, would it be one of these or a skx007? (Hope I got the model number right)

  • My Citizen 44mm Eco-Drive AW1410-32X (green dial, 200 metres) arrived. Very nice!!

    Thanks again OP :)

  • My PADI Samurai (SRPB99K) arrived yesterday but the chapter ring and bezel and crown are all slightly misaligned. :(
    Photos here
I'm thinking of asking if they'll let me swap it for another one, but I'm not sure if I'm just expecting too much..

  • Very happy with the Mini Turtle (SRPC35K). Fast delivery and I seem to be getting around +2s/day on it as well :)
