  I just had the same issue. Used a randomly generated U.S. address (I now live in Johnson City, Tennessee). After entering all the info for address, CC, etc. I got:

  "Contact us at Microsoft support. We’re having trouble processing your payment and we’d like to get it sorted out."

  Are we missing something?

    Try buying from Xbox Credits or Digital codes if you have got.

  Tempted to neg this since OP hasn’t done their research.

  Microsoft have been banning accounts for VPN use recently and have been stating, ‘it is not ok to lie about your location’ and such.

  Your account is not worth the few extra dollars you’d save.

    Microsoft xbox game purchases used to - used to being the operative word - have as a selling point the global purchase - not just region restricted like playstation.

    By making these changes and altering global useage Microsoft is doing away with that competitive advantage to save pennies really. Its good to see that strategically Microsoft have become so short termism and are just pursuing short term profits because that means they have become 2 arrogant commercially. The xbox one x is the best console currently but rescinding global shop just undermined that big time. A halfway house on this is useless, so Sony have just been given a leg up by the Microsoft changes.

    Baloney. They haven't banned anyone from VPN use that I've seen, they did however put restrictions in place to stop purchasing from other regions Xbox Stores via VPN and your normal credit/debit cards. The only bans (14 day suspensions) people copped were from exploiting a method of spamming the enter key on your PC/Laptop to force a purchase through.

    If you have a US based Paypal account, purchasing from the US store is real simple (just swap regions on Xbox, and purchase using that payment method) otherwise as OP mentioned finding Digital Gift Cards from that region is your next best step, and fairly easy for countries like the US.

  you can buy Gift cards from US Amazon. I used Oregon as the state (no state sales tax) and just used a real address from there. You can use any address maybe a Mcdonalds in Portland, for example. It is a digital code so nothing will be physically sent there.

  Once you have done that. Amazon just gives you a digital code which you can redeem on the xbox itself after setting the location of your Xbox to US (Xbox will restart )

  Just did this half hour ago and am now debating whether to get Return to Arkham ( have both games on 360) or the season pass to Arkham Knight which is also US $10. I have the base game of Arkham Knight already.

      No, it won’t work otherwise. You will need a US PayPal account to make the purchase go through. Just add your Aussie credit/debit card to the US account.

  Just read and watched digital foundry’s review on the latest patch. Apparently it’s not a proper 4k update but unlocks frame rates to higher.

  Not sure if I want to make that purchase now.
