  • thanks, but what does this mean? can i download content onto my kindle free for the next 2 months? that can't be right, can it?

See here for a description of the service. Essentially there are certain titles that you can "Read for Free" with a subscription, but when the subscription runs out, you lose the access to them.

There's a nice little bonus if you're after audiobook versions of unlimited titles too.

For instance, take the Mogworld audiobook, normally $26.35. If you buy the kindle version first, it's only $3.49. If that book was in the kindle unlimited selection, and you've added it to your kindle library that counts as having purchased it to qualify for the audiobook discount.

Obviously you don't keep the ebook, but you do get to keep the audiobook bought for cheap even after your unlimited subscription runs out!

    • That's what I am wondering too. If so, my Kindle will be overflowing with books!

Can I sign up for 2 free months, then cancel (because I will forget otherwise) and still get 2 months?

      edit: Thanks doweyy, that helps.

    • None of the big publishers are part of it, so you can basically only read the books Amazon themselves publish.

      • There’re quite a few books worth reading in there, but I wouldn’t pay for it.

  • 'Non-Existing Users'…so new users?

Don't confuse me with your fancy college boy straight talking.

I put non-existing because it seems like you don't have to be new, just not have a current running trial or subscription from what I can tell.

Unless I'm mistaken about the wording.

      • My free trial ended a few days ago, and I have been able to re-sign-up.

I can confirm this is legit statement. I cancelled mine 2 days ago and I got 2 more months of subscription again.

        Thanks alot

    • Solipsism is the philosophical idea that only one's own mind is sure to exist. As an epistemological position, solipsism holds that knowledge of anything outside one's own mind is unsure; the external world and other minds cannot be known and might not exist outside the mind. As a metaphysical position, solipsism goes further to the conclusion that the world and other minds do not exist.

I suggest that perhaps Amazon is acknowledging the possibility that all users don't really exist. This will of course make it very hard for them to get people to pay their subscriptions after the trial period.

  • I had an initial error beacause my kindle was set to US.

Changed that over to Australia and then have a new error: "Kindle unlimited doesn't provide this offer at your current locale."

    Any ideas?

    • Amazon Chat said there was an error with the promotion, but I could sign up and get the 2 months refunded, based on the chat.

  • Really poor selection of books, vast majority are self published. Don't expect to find any books from recommended reading lists.
