This is almost the new RRP yeah?

    • Pretty much, but cheaper than yesterday and a lot of people will prefer JB to Target with similar deals due to gift cards, so I guess this is still a deal.

      • +1

If people already have gift cards for JB wouldn't they have done their own due diligence on prices?

        Is this the ozbricksandmortargiftcardbargain site?

Not the cheapest from non gray import so not a bargain for me.

Is this your subtle way of saying #wtfnodeal as $399 IS the RRP?

  • Its been this price for a new days to match the EB games deal. But as the EB games deal has ended this is the best current price available.

  • +1

They can usually be had for around $350 how is this a deal ? I would just wait for the weekly ebay specials lol

  • +1

why do people keep posting switch console $390++ as a deal? you can find this in Amazon with free delivery.

Because people are idiots. Heh. There I said it!

    • +1

Because Amazon price matches any cheapest similar item within 24 hours. It is not the new RRP.

      • I bought one from Amazon a month ago for $399. They have been at that price for a while. Also using the prime trial I got it on the morning of the second day.

      • I just asked Amazon AU to match JB's Labo deals but they said they won't.

        • But they did!

  • +1

    this is standard price…

    • -1

Really? Afaik RRP is still $469 unless you work with Nintendo and confirm the price drop to $399 permanently.

      • -1

i never said RRP i said its standard price as in go google and there yea go its the normal price accross most shops… go on troll on :)

          • @Letrico: well if i said RRP then i would agree but i didnt…. standard price is the going rate at a point in time in my logic but cool story bro

      • +2

Many products never sell at RRP, so standard (or street) price is a more accurate gauge of value.

  • +1

Lay off, this is 75 beneath RRP, if you wanted a Switch today at the cheapest instore price, this is it (and Target, if they're still 399)

If OzB only posted historical lows, it wouldn't be anywhere near as useful.

    • +1

As Sage has posted it was $55 cheaper last week. There is no reason to expect that it won't be back at that price sometime in the next month.

OzBargain is about cheap deals. My expectation is that if a deal is posted it is either historically cheap, or notes that it was cheaper last week.

    • shouldn't just be historical lows, no, but street price isn't a deal.

  • +1

$55 more than it was last week at another retailer!

    • -3

Can you tell me where I can purchase a time machine so I can go back to last week to buy it for $55 cheaper?

      • +2

Just wait a couple of weeks. There have been plenty of cheaper deals lately, so I think it's reasonable to assume that better deals will crop up again soon enough. Unless you are buying one for someone's birthday or something and need it NOW.

        • Or you could wait a couple of years I'm sure it will be even cheaper.

          • @AnophthalmiaCervidae: When assessing a bargain, it's usually good form to look at historical price data. In this case, the data suggests that this will be cheaper very soon. Take it or leave it.

      • +1

It does suggest that you might be better off waiting for a better deal to come along.

      • Can you tell me where I can purchase a time machine

I could, but they cost $65. So, going back in time would net you a $10 loss on the Switch…

  • +1

Same price as quite a number of other stores. This doesn't make me want to buy this deal over another deal so no deal!

  • not a deal

  • At ebay This will be $379 with 5% off code

    • Which seller? EB Games has raised their price back to the RRP of $469.

      • Ohh yeah.. they raised it.. :(

  • $399 @ catch. You can buy catch girftcarxs at 10% off from auspost and buy switch from catch. Final price would be $359 delivered.

  • Basically standard price

399 at Target and catch, and at eb last week too

  • Negging due to a poor description effort and this is $399 — not a bargain! 😂

PSA to anyone new switch in early 2019 !

Two weeks ago the same price garnered 58 up votes, now the same price gets more negs than up votes? Seems a bit harsh. Yeah, it’s not a great price, but hardly worth the votes it’s getting. Hopefully OP doesn’t get too discouraged from posting in the future.
