Yamaha ATS-2070B Soundbar $379.05 + Delivery (Free C&C) @ The Good Guys eBay

110
P5OFF

Am in the market for a soundbar for ~$500. ATS-2070B / YAS-207 seems to be one of the best out there.
Listened to this and 108 in store today and this is definitely at a different level.

Listened to JBL as well, but felt that yammy had a better/fully-rounded sound.
There does seems to be some cross over issue. I am OK to risk it as this sounded the best for the price range.

Was available for $320 earlier this year. But, this is the best price right now.

Original P5OFF 5% off Sitewide on eBay Deal Post

20% off The Good Guys @ eBay (Starts 10am 8/10) https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/407678
IF there is no price jack, should drop it to $319.2.
Thank You - Chickenleg.

  • Samsung M360 sound bar for $188 delivered seems like a much better deal.

I looked at a 450$ sammy. Was not as good as 207.

    • where is that price available? Good Guys Ebay shows $299 for samsung m360.

  • How is the sound quality compare to Bose Solo 5 SoundBar? I am looking at Bose Solo 5 Soundbar the other day but not quite impress with the sound quality.

    • I actually loved the Bose Solo. The output was very crisp. Only issue is, I don't think it produces enough output to be the main entertainment unit. Also, it is quite an old model. 2014 or something.

Bought this for around 330 from TGG around mid year and i think it's great. I had a listen to the 107 but it just didn't cut it in the bass department for me.

Also considered the Samsung above which was 160 at the time, but the Yamaha easily won just in online reviews.

    Then again, i'm no audiophile!

  • At the $500 price range i'd be interested in your thoughts on the Sonos Beam

    • This one was also on my list. But, goodguys did not have it on display and I couldn't get the one in jbhifi to play.
Reviews are quite good but subwoofer is a must it seems. subwoofer is $1000. So, off the list. :)

    • Unfortunately, there seems to be no clear choice at this price point.
If you have $900, go for YSP 2700. This seems to be the best seller.
If you have $1500, go for beam with woofer. Add play as rear speakers at a later point.

Have the new JBL 3.1 great sound and sub is awesome, paid $555 at HN.

    • I had a listen at the JBL 3.1 at Harvey for that price, it didn't cut it for me, even for that price, the sound clarity is not very good to me.

    • The sales person said next to yamaha, jbl was the brand he sells the most.
I listened to 3.1 in goodguys. While it was quite good, i prefered the yamaha. Its just personal preference i think.

  • Bought this from graysonline ebay for $320 refurbed when they have those 20 percent off codes. Great sound bar for the price point. Dont know about it at RRP…

Do you have a link for the deal? This would be an awesome price. Can't find this price in ebay.

Hi mate sorry it was a typo in the price. Wasn't thinking straight. Price is $359.10 with the 10% discount code

        • Looks like the timing is good with now 20% off at TGG tomorrow though 😉 - unless they jack the price

          • @Chickenleg: Shh.. lemme get one before you make a post tomorrow please.

            • @zorrt: Haha I already have one so i'm not going to be that proactive about it

          • @Chickenleg: Thanks mate. Good thing I waited. Had a listen to Sonos Beam today. Impressed me a lot.
Just not sure if it would be enough to fill the room. Can't decide. MIght pull the trigger for 207 tomorrow after seeing this.

Do you know if we can attach rear speakers to 207?

            • @spk-chelsea: Hmm pretty sure it doesn’t allow for it, could be wrong

            • @spk-chelsea: No rear speaker compatibility with this model unfortunately. Great sounding soundbar - though as stated above, I’d suggest listening to the JBL 3.1 again as well, just get the salesperson to demo different sound modes and ensure the bass isn’t turned up too high.

  • I'm tempted, but a little concerned about the issue pointed out by 'Stretchy Pants' in post 5 in this thread on Whirlpool:

    https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2656858

The cross over point for the sub means that there is a noticable cut in/out from the subwoofer especially during speach with male voices being particullary affected.

Can anyone comment? Apparently, it can't be fixed with a firmware update.
