  I set the TT-BA08 to RX mode and plugged in a Xiaomi Piston Fresh. I paired it with my Essential Phone (Android 9). I can only get it to connect in SBC mode. Is my TT-BA08 unit defective?

  I have also tried pairing the TT-BA08 with a OnePlus One and Samsung Galaxy S7. They all connect in SBC mode. They have no problem connecting to my Plantronic BackBeat Pro under aptX mode.

    I noticed this the other day when checking the latency for Cruisen's DJ mixer->amp question (202ms delay using two BA07 for TX/RX: https://i.imgur.com/q1xbloE.jpg ).

    I only get an SBC connection when pairing to my Galaxy S7 (can't change it to AptX via Android's 'Developer options').

      Thanks for the comment. I am very keen to hear from everyone who had experience with TaoTronics and similarly listed items on Amazon.

      Have anyone successfully connect one of these TaoTronics Bluetooth receiver to their phones in AptX mode? Or is it just false advertising? (On Android, activate Developer Mode and scroll about 3/4 way down the list and look for Bluetooth Audio Codec.)

      I bought my TT-BA08 based on the high number of up votes on Ozbargain. But the discrepancies between different Amazon listing, official website and the manual are a little worrying. Some say it's Bluetooth 4.1 or Bluetooth 4.2. Some said the battery is 10 hours or 20 hours.

        Looking at the reviews on Amazon.com, only 62% of the reviews has a 5 Stars rating. A high quality product would have received higher percentage of 5 Stars rating. I also scroll through the 1 and 3 Stars rating. Many complaints are about audio sync, unable to connect to two devices and unexpected noise when trying to use the device while charging.

        Most of TaoTronics bluetooth receivers have similar or worst ratings on Amazon US. Is it a quality control problem? My advice to any potential customers is to manage your expectations.

            @xev: I was offered $5 refund. I'm still deciding if I want accept the partial refund or take my chances with return and maybe replacement unit.

            I must commend your company for providing great support. You are very active in these posts responding to questions and comments. In the Amazon US reviews I have read, I got the impression that even people who left low rating are happy with the refund or replacement units you guys offer. Your products might not be perfect, but the fact that your company is prepared to stand behind it have earned my respect.

  Received my TT-BA09 yesterday. Tried it on a Sony tv via 3.5mm - pairing was easy but there is a lot of pink/static noise on both of my B&W PX and Sennheiser 4.50. Any one experiencing the same issue?

  Sorry … but I cannot buy a product with an outdated micro USB cable.

  The standard is now USB-C and it's too hard to carry extra cables for this outdated spec.
