yes, much better than the one posted yesterday for 4 x 2032 batteries which wasnt really a deal at all

  • If only they had a watch back tool, too? Is there any retail shop that sells them? I don't want to wait for delivery from China.

jaycar is where I got my set.

      • Thanks I wasn't aware they sell them.
Lol, I went to buy the batteries, thinking they would fit my watch, only to see they were really big, way too big for a watch.

    • Aliexpress delivers in 10 days, faster than everything I've bought from local sellers on eBay

My last order from Ali (choice items) was 6 days
        Friday arv to Wednesday morning.
        To Brisbane
Seems to be at the mercy of the last mile delivery service tbh. Getting to Brisbane is a few days.

Can someone share a link of the kit we will need to replace battery please? Local or Aliexpress either would do. Thank you.

It depends on your watch. If there's only a single small gap, a thin flathead screwdriver should suffice. If there are six or more evenly spaced divets on the case, you'll require a specialized back case opener with adjustable points or a sticky ball.

        • Thank you

    • I bought a set of basic tools off eBay and got it in a few days. Just choose a local seller who ships domestically.

Shame there aren't many melbourne stores

      Like every shopping centre.

There is literally about 50 stores in the greater Melbourne area and almost 100 in total across Victoria. Your version of “many” is different to mine.

Just FYI you can get the 10 packs for $10-11 everyday prices from eBay sellers. If that’s too many batteries is upto your usage i’d say. I have 2 scales and few other accessories that goes through about 5-6 (total) of them per year

    • The main question is quality and whether they are genuine.

I got a lot from this deal here, 10 for $1, and at first they were fine, but shelf life is catching up with them. Still, they were a lot better than no-name ones I had from eBay or AliExpress.

      • So i’d normally go with name brands such as toshiba or panasonic and a reasonable shelf life. The one i recently purchased said 5 yr expiry which is way after* where I’d run them flat.
        ——

Is there a quicker way to find the name brand coin-cells are genuine?

        • Internal resistance check side by side with a genuine cell.

      • In case it’s helpful to anyone, I’ve been buying Panasonic batteries from https://ebay.us/m/NSV1YB for many, many years - must be hundreds of them by now across a variety of sizes (have an extensive network of Zigbee devices).

They appear to be genuine - at the very least they perform / last like genuine, so beyond that I guess it doesn’t really matter.

Slightly more than $1/battery for CR2032, so you can definitely get cheaper, but worth it in my opinion for the knowledge I’m getting a quality battery / lack of hassle.

  • How much do you trust the supply chain ?
    Genuine?

I've been getting the Toshiba AAs and AAAs from the Reject Shop for years since they've been cheap and reliable - no reason to think these coin cells wouldn't also be genuine, since they're probably just another SKU from the same regular supplier.

About 10 years ago I bought/replaced Duracell batteries from The Reject Shop multiple times because for some reason they wouldn't power my OG Dre Beats headphones at all.
My parents still use The Reject Shop for their 9V batteries for their backup cheapo wireless security system and they're replacing them every 6 months.

A lot can change in 10 years, but I don't buy batteries from cheap shops anymore. I usually wait until Coles do half price on Energizer and buy a bulk pack.
