Not my favourite! (hugs Panasonic OLED.. I've got long arms)

Still, great deal on a great TV.

Speaking of Panasonic, the 55" OLED is $1,996 with the 20% code

    • What do you prefer about the Panasonic over the LGs?

      • Motion and colour accuracy. I'm not fussed about Dolby Vision, you have to have eagle eyes to see the difference in scene by scene. Colour accuracy though, is heaps more important to me.

        • What about controls?
I’ve heard LG got awesome pointing remote.

@SickDmith: The remote is really intuitive and you don't need direct line of sight for it to operate as it doesn't use IR (uses RF).
However I found it chews through batteries.

@SickDmith: No idea about LG's remote. I don't have any issues with the controller (I like the soft "rubberised" back, reminds me of the Xbox One remote).

Software is whatever, I don't use that either. I use this TV for 45% UHD plex rips and 55% gaming on my Scorpio.

Still waiting the Sony AF9 to be released on the 14th of this month after seeing Vincent's review on HDTVTest.

    • Just watched after seeing your comment. Do I dare move from searching bargains for the C8 to the AF9?! I think I might!

    • My instant reaction is the kick-back stand isn't going to be suitable for my lounge room.
Will have to see it in the flesh to confirm whether it's a feature killer and keep looking at an LG.

  • Waiting for the refund on my C7 I bought from good guys eBay around this time last year.

Returning due to vertical banding and pink tint. It took a year of messing around before they agreed to refund me.

Would have been good timing if I could get this with the refund. I'd have a bit left over too.

Still not sure if want to gamble on the quality control though.

  • i ordered one of these yesterday for a family member who was away working and kept getting a error code while trying to purchase, i got the same error code first attempt and changed the pickup store and was successful the 2nd time around, this morning i notice they have taken the money for both orders, the successful one as well as the unsuccessful one i got the error code.
this will be interesting to see how much effort goes into getting the 2nd tv reversed.
cant wait to see how many my son has purchased as he said he had tried multiple times and always got the same error.
