[NSW] Click Energy Electricity 40% off Pay on Time Discount

24

First time poster, so please go easy on my azz.

Was on the Click Opal plan for electricity to my house in NSW which was 27% off for pay on time (direct debit). Signed up to Red Energy for a better deal (lower rate and daily supply charge) and a week later Click called me to offer a 40% off pay on time plan, which works out better than Red. Red couldn't match it (when I called they said that their value add is that they're 100% Aussie owned, to which I respectfully replied that I only cared about my household budget bottom line) so I chose to stay with Click.

Anyway not sure if this is a bargain but the plan seems to be hidden because there's no link to it when you go through their website and it's lower than Red which I thought was the cheapest for me (Ausgrid, NSW).

Edit: per the link, 40% discount on your usage and supply charges: 42.13c per kWh / 99c daily supply charge which is 25.278c per kWh / 59.4c daily supply after 40%.

No minimum term but it does say rates can vary at any time.

    Please share

1: daily supply charges with GST
2: per KW charges with GST

Also does discount apply to both of above or just one?

I've been with them for 12months and haven't had a problem. I'm not affiliated with them in anyway. I've only had a positive experience myself, so avoid at your own loss

Even after the 40% discount, 25c per kWh is about average, the figure without the 40% is craaayz expensive (42.13c per kWh)
        Nothing personal against you OP

        • Yeh definitely. Only going with it coz we're on direct debit. Weird, coz 25c per kWh is the lowest standard rate I could find. I'm all ears if there is something lower :)

          • @k3nigma: Did you look at Qenergy Flexi Home? Controlled Load supply is Free

            • @Steptoe: Don't you need a fancy metre for controlled load?

          • @k3nigma: I'm with clickEnergy at rates lower than that; 22c per kWh and 54c supply charges per day, but rate could vary based on suburb. NO discounts on time payment. No issues so far. I switched from Dodo discounted plan. Discounts are confusing. If interested please let me know, I'll help to switch to lower rate plan.

            • @chan v: Hi Chan V. I've seen you offered to help finding a better deal for electricity in NSW. If you don't mind could you share your knowledge? I am with Dodo but I am sure theres something cheaper out there.
              Daily charge rate 0.9055
              Anytime charge 0.3119
Minus 20% pay on time discount

      • Watch out your bill!! Sure you will have some good offer at the beginning.

I was with them for more than 3 years. They increased the rates 2.5 times without a notice.

  • I am with them for 3 mths now. No issues so far. Just letting you know that the discount is only applied in the next bill. I’m not sure how the last discount is applied if I leave.

Don't bother even looking at providers, go direct to the government-endorsed/run comparison website.

I did. That's where I found the Red Energy plan was the lowest for me, until I signed up and Click got wind and suddenly this magical 40% off plan appeared. Don't take my word for it, click on the link.

PS. I hate the whole "discount" system for energy bills. Makes it hard to compare even though it's supposed to be easier now!!

h8 the whole discount scheme, makes comparisons harder by forcing prospective customers to read all the fine print, smokes and mirrors

        • Amen

The plutocratic government is interested in removing as much money from you as possible which was why the system was set up so confusingly in the first place and now your going to trust them to wade through the confusing mess they created and tell you the best price?

      Wow.

Just another example of this occurring:

Are you enjoying handing over thousands of dollars to people much wealthier than you? That's what the government is doing with electricity.

  • Yeh no issues for me, 12mths. They didn't tell me that the discount was for the next bill only. I got an email confirmation of my "upgrade". If it's only for one bill, I'll definitely be pizzed.

Just shows how greedy they have become, to offer that for paying on time. In my book it say's they're over charging you that amount a month.

Liberal and Labour voters are to blame. They voted in the pigs that created the electricity disaster.

  • Worst service ever, you will receive monthly bill and then another bill for 3 months, biggest scam, better to avoid.

    • +1

To be fair, that sounds like the first bill was a pro-rata one, and then you were billed quarterly. The same as every other energy company I've been with.

  • LOL Should be called Click Bait. The 40% off is a marketting gimick!! Who pays 42c!!!

I think you’ll find posting deals on power plans a bit of a minefield
