  • On a scale of "Nanopresso to Flair/Rok", where would you place the Leverpresso in terms of results (disregarding portability).

    • +2

      Hey!

It is above the ROK, Below the Flair and a better option then the NanoPresso as it has a bigger basket and easier to use.

      Hope that helps.

      • Cheers!

Above the Rok? Didn't expect that!

        • I don't think it is above the ROK. It might have a similar method of extraction but when I use the ROK at work, I pre-heat the unit with boiling water and I think you can pack finer coffee into the basket. The ROK is a very heavy and sturdy unit that can take a lot of weight when pushing water through the unit. I can't say this unit as the same sturdiness, I haven't got one but don't brush off the ROK, it can do a shot similar to a lever pull machine.

      • You can get a double basket for the nanopresso, so apart from ease of use, how different is the extraction quality?

  • Does it come with the stand? Or do you have to hold it over a cup when pressing?

    • +1

Doesn't look like it comes with the stand. Without the stand, you press it into the included cup, which latches onto the unit (you would have a hard time holding the Leverpresso in the air over a cup while pressing it!).

However, one criticism I read is that the portafilter is hard to screw on (enough to create a seal) and hard to remove (whilst hot and pressurised). Apparently the stand helps with this (I assume the stand has notches to match the portafilter, which can be used to help screw the portafilter on/off), so I think most people would want the stand!

Rep: can you do us a deal with the stand? :)

  • Is there a pod attachment for this? Google seems to suggest no but this was implicit rather than explicit.

    • Don't think so (definitely not an official one).

If you want to use pods, I'd just get a Nanopresso and the NS adapter (for Nespresso compatible pods), or a Handpresso if you want to use ESE pods.

If you find one that uses Aldi (K-Fee) pods, then please let me know! (for the fiance, not me!) :)

      • Where can you get ESE pods? I've only seen them in Europe…?
