  • Looking for something in late June - July

  • +1

Any idea if I can stop in Kuala Lumpur, spend a week, before continuing to London?

    • You can try do a multi-city search. I've done it in the past (stopping in KL before another domestic leg), not much difference (if any) in price. But this was a few years ago, might be different now.

Amazing price as the Heathrow taxes and surcharges can be about that when using points.

    • +1

Indeed. After looking at the London airports for my current trip (hi from Italy), we eventually flew into Nice (taxes $360 for two people) and out of Venice to KL (taxes around $600 total for two). UK taxes were brutal. Spain was our next best option too but the dates didn't work - Madrid was well priced though!

      • What taxes are talking about?

        • +1

If you book a rewards seat with points (eg if you have a lot of Qantas points), you still have to pay the airport taxes. It's annoying, but these taxes differ from airport to airport. So if you're flying to Europe, it can be considerably cheaper to fly into say, Madrid, rather than London, even though it might be the same number of points.

That's because those surcharges, especially with Qantas, when using points, are a con. Better off using points to upgrade class, etc than to waste it on "free" flights that require "taxes and surcharges" that often equal the sale ticket price.

    • Har har har you should do standup /s

        $900 for a one way deal isn't cheap….

          It's a roundtrip not one-way

It's right, no it's left. Stuff it keep going in a straight line and we'll find the maps after lunch.

  • Any hints on what dates to search for, can't find anything pertaining to Malaysia airlines to london

Edit: found dates off-site, Feb - April 2019

    • Ugh, it was in there, mod removed it for some reason. I'll add it in description.

      • Not enough room. Don't have to fit the entire novel on the front cover.

        Title Guidelines

  • Searched dates in April. Not even coming up. The other airlines are advertising is at their standard rate. This isn't an ozbargain, this is like a waste of time advertisement. If you're going to advertise this, include the dates that the deal applies to. So annoying.
