  • Buy a kilo of glucose for that. Two if you buy by 25kg bag.

    • Yes you could, but the two products are pretty different.

Glucose is nearly entirely sugar, where as SIS is rather reduced. Less than 1% per sachet.

      • Glucose is 50% of sugar. Maltodextose, the ingredient of these gels, is short chains of glucose. Your saliva will chop the gel into glucose before it hits your stomach.

Just get brew sugar dextrose is glucose if you read the package

      • That’s what I do.

My mix, 25g glucose, 5g potassium citrate, 5g magnesium malate and 1g of sodium bicarb and a pinch of lemon myrtle leaves. Pre pack in 25ml specimen jars. Less than 5c a hit and 1% of the full price of this gear. Not for all occasions but fine for training.

Could add more sodium and calcium if you want. But I have plenty of calcium in my cappuccino and salt on my steak when I get home.

  • What magical location do you live in where your Coles stocks SIS gels?
I've only ever seen the SIS tablets in any Coles I've been in.

    • +1

I saw the gels in the Canberra City (inside the Canberra Centre) store.

    • Would like to know too! I live close to three. Hurstville / Brighton and they never have it.

  • 20 gels for $27.56 from Wiggle. Of course you need to add postage or order over $80 for free delivery.
