I'm not sure I want to encourage this gorilla. Besides they don't have an offer for multiple policies.

    • yep, starve the gorilla

  • why northshores only.

    • Probably a test run, like the myfind store.

Must be the sort of clientele they prefer to underwrite….

Western Sydney … time to arise … get on Facebook, twitter too … time for a people's revolt … let's take the bridge … we've had enough, we're not going to take it any more!

        ;)

        • damn, i was 50 short of the postcode range lol

because everyone knows they cant afford it… very poor people living on the north shore, they deserve special discounts more than anyone else in sydney. all the rich folk in sydney's west dont need any breaks- money is falling from the sky for them.

  • This is great for me, i did a qoute last week online to compare and it was much cheaper for my area. Now i get free roadside assistance if i sign up winner !

although not sure if there was free roadside assistance before or not

  • So how good are they when compared to smaller insurers such as Real or Budget Direct.

It really really depends on your car.

For my Barina, budget was $70pm. For the Corolla, $80. For the Falcon, $105.
Then compare youi. $110 for Barina. $55 for Corolla. $210 FOR THE FALCON.

When trying to get the best price insurance you need to search every single company you can find. I searched, from memory, 30-35 and got my best price from progressive direct.

      • "progressive direct"? never heard of it

        • They've only started in Australia recently but are the same company that's been operating in America for I believe 50+ years. They have that horrible Corinne Grant in their adverts.

  • might be cheap premium, but make sure you look into the finer details - higher excess, no maximum no claims protection, no low excess windscreen claim.
Check the full details when you compare with current GIO/NRMA/etc policy.

    • I couldn't find out what my excess is when I do the online quote, yike!

      • That's pretty terrible.

      • You probably only got to the "estimated" quote page. Keep going and after a couple more screens you'll get to the final quote that has the excess in it. The default excess I got was $650, which is a hundred more than my AAMI policy has. But even with the same excess and no claims bonus protection, these guys were more than $100 less than AMMI.

  • For those who do not qualify, you might want to check out Budget Direct's "pay less or get $50" offer. I got $50 from them as they could not beat AAMI's lower quote.

  • lol.. i want Aldi to insure my car! haha WTF Coles really.. whats next pet birds and fish

You'd be surprised what people expect. My partner had a customer come up to him last night at woolworths and ask where the pet dogs were.

        deli or frozen food section?

" … we are the fresh food people" :)

        oops, sorry!

    • You must realise, both the major supermarkets in Australia are ripping off the UK Supermarket playbook, specifically Tescos usually. Car and Home insurance is one of the items they carry, so it's no surprise to see it here.

Pity, given the extreme prices, they haven't copied the BOGOF mania yet…

As someone who sells insurance I can tell you that the price and service when you buy is less of a concern than the service when you need to claim
Good luck getting the checkout chick to fix your car - clean up on aisle 2!

  • For god sake. Wondering if the insurance is without the fancy packaging and labeled home brand.

    • smart buy* ;)

  • Looks good to me! Definitely much cheaper insurance than GIO/NRMA/AAMI.
