  • 130 us dollars is 183 au dollars so how is it 211 au?

    • GST ?

      • 10%?

reckon u mean amazon au tax on collecting 10% - that's so trumptown…

Nope. Amazon AU include Australian GST in all their pricing. (My only annoyance is that a legitimate itemised tax invoice is not available until after your CC has been charged and goods shipped. 3rd party Amazon Marketplace vendors remain clueless however when trying to get a tax invoice. This not to be confused with the actual amazon order itself which is NOT a legitimate tax invoice for ATO purposes).

I have had many purchase from Amazon US via Amazon AU —-> Amazon Global Store (since 01-Jul-2018). Comparing current prices between the two using current USD/AUD fx rate and allowing for Australian GST = same price +/- a few cents either way. Additional freight consolidator's & customs agent's fees etc. appear to be absorbed by Amazon at the moment as their economies of scale for their shipping from (the US mostly, and elsewhere) would be huge enough to still make it profitable without making landed cost disadvantageous for AU customers.

No price-jacking, no amazon au tax.

In fact purchases via Amazon AU comes in cheaper because if you have Prime Membership at both sites, purchases over AUD 49.00 Amazon AU come with free shipping while shipping within the US is free and freight payable is from the US to AU transit leg.

@et tu brute: demonstrate how 10% of 183 au added equals 203 au plus or get some pidgin English.

furthermore your talking crap about deals since the majority of cheap amazon us deals ain't ever available through the global store now.

real tired of the fake trumptown posts about amazon au every week on this site. its crap like your math. its a jack like the majority of the stuff on amazon global.

you pay for prime - its an added cost to every item..

            • @petry: $183 X 1.1 = $201.3
The 1% difference is probably due to a variation in the exchange rate, they may use their own rate to cover costs, like how paypal tack on 3% to their exchange rate..

              • @FLICKIT: its a jack - amazon inflate their price by using amazon calculator - amazon au price will always be higher than us price - thanks to oz protectionist governments who are silent about how much au tax amazon au will pay, a figure no doubt deliberately inflated by the gst collected on purchases from amazon global.

                it stinks.

@petry: At least you can use Cashrewards on Amazon Au, get 6% back, you're still 5% ahead even with the extra 1% Amazon take in the exchange rate, lol

It is what it is, no one forces us to shop with them…

                  • -1

@FLICKIT: now you're trolling - cause you know border taxes removed 1000's of online shopping sites and foreign amazons are now all blocked.

you want to cover up the very limited choices from amazon.au, push the idea that they're really competitive here in au, and somehow everything's good - go back to trumptown - you belong there.

you don't give a shit about the oz economy and amazon tax fiddles.

  • This or 970 evo?

  • Can I replace my macbook air mid 2013 ssd with this?

    • +1

Nope, Macbook Air uses it own proprietary SSD.

  • anybody wondering about how accessible amazon us deals are here just look at the non existent graphic card deals - tech is now more expensive in oz thanks to the border tax/ amazon bar/ tax fiddle.
