      • +5

receipt says you should have been given change of $1

it's not often you pay 250% of ticket price!!!

      • +1

        Great deal +1
They should have given you 2 for 5c though :)

      • +1

Damn! 2cts shd be rounded down and not up - you were ripped off by the cashier! LOL

I really don't get these pricing.. why can't they just price it 5cts..

oh wait maybe we (ozbargainers) would not buy coz it's 3 cts more ex~

        • +5

just carry an extra two with you if you get charged 5 cents
that way you pay 5c for 3 of them

  • crikey, 100% money back in change… you should buy up all of them if they had more

    • +7

Yeah but you’d have to get them all individually or it wouldn’t round down to zero.

This is brilliant: covers the missus’ Christmas and birthday present!

      jk

  • lol, so you got $1 change for $1? nice share.

      • +8

        Oh man I hope that's joy…

        • +18

          Oh man I hope that's tears …

        • Happy stains or sad stains? I think happy…

  • unfortunately, this was the only one i found over there, and both cashier and I were shocked when the price popped out.

    • mostly likely a discontinued item, that the system auto marks down every few months (price will be same for all kmart stores). the cashier should really report it the the manager on duty so future transactions will be more appropriately priced i.e update store db system price value and report it to head office (doesn't usually happen thou). the only apparel items are purposely marked down to those levels.
staff can get fired from purchasing items like this. (didn't happen to me mind you)

  • $1 paid, $1 change. Awesome.

  • You got a bit wet in excitement.

  • So excited by his saving he messed the receipt.

    • his free Kleenex Flushable Fresh Wipes didnt come in time !

      • mine came yesterday.

        • so did mine. lol.

  • this has to be one of the best ever!

  • lol nice find

Would have been cheaper if it wasn't for that retail killing GST!

    • +1

The receipt says there was no GST collected, even though it is a taxable item.

This must be a quit cycle item (clearance/end of range) given the absurd price.

They don't have to legally sell this to you, a retail store reserves the right to refuse to sell the item or sell it at a "reasonable" price which would be based on a recommended retail price. The only way they would have to sell it to you legally is if it was actually priced at 2c on the shelf which i would guarantee it wasn't.

I used to be a manager at k-mart and if these scanned at 2c i would refuse to sell them, the only way this should slip through is if you purchased a heap of items and the register operator didn't pick up the price. Given the rounding this item was then free and it is very poor by the staff member that they let the sale go through.

Blah blah blah. You're the kind of store manager that people hate and you drive people away from your stores. I can tell you that I've once had a manager refuse to sell me a $50 product that scanned at $5 and I've never been back to that specific store again. Being that it was a large chain store and the closest to my house, they've probably lost about $10,000 of business from me - A lot more than that $45 on one product.

      • itswhat a $5 lure? let it go man, giving customers these types of thrills and clearing up your shelf space is win win. not like its a tv or stereo.

  • they are pretty effective squid lures too. i nearly always catch a feed using them.

Just tried Fairfield Kmart, the price is $4. No deal for me.

    • Yea the $4 ones are the "3.0" the "2.5" is the one going for 2cents.

  • +2

I'm surprised there hasn't been a "worms are free" comment yet

    At last… a real bargain :-)

  • Just tried my local kmart and got them to check for stock in all the local areas, all sold out.
The one that are on sale are "3.0, 3.5 and 4.0" the clearance was for the 2.5 squid lures.

  • No luck in Hornsby NSW at noon - everything squid lure related sold out except for a 2 pack of jigs plus float which is still $11.

  • I don't get why this is in bargains.. it is a freebie…
    XD

    • only if you pay in coins ;)

if you pay by credit card then you cop the 2c

  • Worms are cheaper.

    • lures come from trees

      worms come from the groud

well. that's what i've been hearing
