Of course this would come out once I stop working in the city! 😭

That being said, Metro prices are higher than Woolies Town Hall prices if not on special …

    • So you don’t work for DJs anymore?

      • Yep! I miss my staff discount :( But I'm enjoying my new role

        • +1

Least you still have Amex DJ store card for life. Can’t complain about free delivery.

          • -1

@nightelves: Wow.. Is it free for Woolies employees? Does it include free delivery on DJ purchase or Woolies purchase?

        • What's your new role?

          • @Homr: In the education industry :)

            • @kerfuffle: Are you a teacher?

              • @Homr: Haha no. I have an English degree, but do not possess the fine skills required to be a teacher 😂

@kerfuffle: The careful use of words and ambiguity makes it obvious what she does
She's joined the ranks of the underworld. She's become a mob enforcer

I might be dumb…but I thought the town hall one was Woolies George St, unless a new one just opened?

    • I think George St is the one that's on a side street near Wynyard that's not Metcentre 🤔

    • Picture shows 4 locations

    • +1

It is newish. There are 3 newer stores in the CBD - George St (near Wynyard), York St (used to be Dick Smith) and Pitt St (opened a month or 2 ago).

The Coles on the corner or pitt and king has closed down and they were handing out the flyers at that spot today, obviously trying to pick up the Coles customers.

Town Hall and MetCentre have been around for a lot longer.

      • Were they also handing out bags of nuts and shopping bags or just 10% off flyers?

        • Today just the flyers. But there were like 4 people literally standing around the Coles Express.

Can it be used for insurance renewal?

  • Can I add the bar code to stocard and use?

    • Just manually enter the numbers and it should work.

      • +2

        from the self check out?

        • +1

You can manually input a code into stocard.

      • How?

    • +1

I've never been able to get Stocard to work at Woolies. Is there a trick you're doing to get them to scan?

      • I have no problem scanning it.

Just turn the back light to max and try to maximize the bar code. I am using an Android phone

        • +1

Hmm, I'm using a S7 and I've never been able to get Stocard to work properly at Woolworths. When Beep'nGo was around it always worked flawlessly because it used the Samsung Beaming tech so that it could work even on older laser scanners.

          • +1

@SeaWolf au: The older scanners (Zebra brand - grey plastic) generally can't scan barcodes on phones. The newer ones work better (black plastic) but not all the time.

    • No need, the image scans fine

Offer valid for two weeks from 15/10/18 to 11/11/18! Woolworths redefining 4 weeks as 2 weeks!

    Opal excluded?

    • +1

Did you read the fine print?

Excludes purchases of … travel cards

Got one of these barcodes a few weeks back. They were advertising near the old Coles George Street which recently closed down and Woolies is capitalizing on the Coles closure.

It maybe worth it for ozbargainers to get one of these barcodes as there are also some other freebies, like a bag and some mixed nuts.

Was going to post it here, but when getting aound to it, the barcode had already expired, so great to see it has been extended.

Is that the one on the corner of King St near IAG?

      • +1

        Yup.

Pretty sure T&C’s say one time only use though.

But maybe it can actually be used multiple times.

        • Good thing Woolies Pitt St Mall is just nearby! ;)

        • Yes can be used multiple times as its the same barcode, just wonder if Woolworths Rewards is going to limit the number of uses.

      • +1

Yes thats the one next to IAG

      • +1

Wonder if Coles will blame the Light Rail construction for the closure - lol

  • -2

    what about vic?

    • What about it?

    • what about vic?

Pretty sure this barcode is not restricted to your name, will equally work if your name is Vicky or Victor and anything in between.

    • +1

      “what about vic“

      It’s not part of Sydney.

  • +1

Has anyone tried this barcode outside of Sydney CBD?

    • Try it. Let us know.

    • +2

Why would it work outside the four stores listed? It does not work for Town Hall.\

Maybe someone could try and see if this code works at Coles.

      • Pfft. Sif not try it aldi.

  • -1

    Opal recharge anyone!?

    • No

Excludes purchases of … travel cards

  • worked thx.

  • Still good value

  • Do I just scan the attached picture (via mobile) in the checkout counter?

  • -1

Does central park count as CBD lol?

    • It's not a Metro store, so no and it's not in the city (it's in Chippendale), so no. This offer is only for Metro stores that are in the city.

      • Ah thanks

    • It says the promo is valid only for the four stores mentioned on the flyer.

      • Yeah my bad. I neglected to check the photo of the coupon.

  • Just tested at townhall, scans but no discount

    • +1

Because it specifically states that the offer isn't available at Woolies Town Hall … Town Hall isn't a Metro store bur a proper Woolies store

      • That’s why i said “tested”
