Took me about 5 mins to upgrade the internal drive(+ time for the tivo to reboot and update).

Not a bad deal. However, if you can hold off a month or two, there's generally somewhere that will have them for under $100 when TiVo AU do special distributor volume pricing. Last big sale was mid-Dec10 (ref http://twitpic.com/3gbby7 http://twitpic.com/3gbbxx) and prior to that was Jul10.

Your only option for extra space on the Tivo is this drive or put your own drive inside (you can't use any old USB drive). One of the drawbacks to a big drive in the Tivo is it takes ages to scroll through the list of contents. Unlike a Topfield you can't put stuff in folders (say Comedies or Movies).
