      One day……

  • +1

is this meant to say 256GB for $79.20?

Edit: Looks like someone already beat me to asking this. Apologies and thanks for editing the title.

  • OP, did you mean 250GB for $79.20?

  • You mean 250GB $79.20?

  • $79.20 for 1TB wait what!?

  • Definitely a typo the 1TB is $220

  • That would be the opposite of Jacking, then we are just dreaming

    • +10

I'm sure a few would've been jacking until they realised it was for the 250gb.

  • hmmm do i need this

    • +1

Hand in your ozb card if you gonna justify before buying.

      • Or just be smart and wealthier. ;)

        • +4

i DON'T need this. what i DO need is to pass my FKN EXAMS

      • Hand in your ozb card

I still haven't received mine. Is it physical or electronic?

        • It’s actually an email.
It gets sent to you 20 times, G’Day rewards membership style.

          • @Kuzdog: Thanks. Found it in my spam folder.

    • Edit: Not a participating reseller :(

      • Futu online and shopping express are same company pretty sure

so not sure if you will get the game or not.

    • Yep! Just received this reply:

      Hi,

Our stock is eligible for the promo. Get in touch with me with the serial number of the drive and I can request a game code for you.

  • +2

Just a heads up for everyone, the 1TB is $219 @ Umart so you can use the eBay price guarantee to get a further 5% back in eBay vouchers.

  • can i use this to boost up the speed of my ps4?

  • MSY has the 1TB for $219

    • No Cashback though

      • I guess that's useful for gamers?

        • you always can sell it ;) worth +$40

          • @msmhw: I sold mine for $55 easily on eBay

            • @benjamin: @benjamin how did you manage to sell it because you have to create a ubisoft uplay account and then redeem it through a link. I received mine through amd raise the game, but it's not a code.

              Thanks.

              • @Emre: I would like to know as well .

              • @Emre: You sell and give them the code. They create the Ubisoft account and redeem it

  • Looks like SSDs and MicroSD cards are about the same price now.

    • I think you will find it's only the SATA SSD's companies are trying to get rid off at increasingly more desperate prices.

  • +1

Nice, could always use more SSD. Cheers OP

  • Is this good for PS4 to increase my storage space?

    • Depends what size you already have in there. To increase storage space, replace your current drive with one that has a higher capacity.

      • So you can't just freely interchange storages? I have 1TB storage but I find I need to keep on deleting games because it gets full every month from the free PS+ games. Thought I could just get more storage but you are saying I can only have one?

        • You can use an external drive through the USB port, can't you?

          • @dm01: You can?

            • @first in line: You can.

As far as SSD's go. IIRC, Digital Foundry did a bunch of benchmarks for PS4 and Xbox and the results were that SSDs on a console is a waste of money…IIRC.

  • I'm considering getting the 1tb SSD (for my games), originally from Umart ($220), but now considering MSY for the free game. Anyone know if there's any copies left? or perhaps a ploy from MSY to get people to buy from them, only to say "no more copies available" ?.

    • +1

Why don't you just ask MSY directly?

      • I will be :). Thought I'd ask here too, in case someones already tried claiming but were told no more were available :).

  • Have just built my desktop. To install this, my understanding is that I would need to: 1) purchase this as is, 2) mount in a 2.5" ?cage in my case 2.5/3.5" slot, 3) connect a 6 pin SATA cable from mobo to this, 4) have a functioning, powered 2nd SSD drive?

    • +1

Yup sounds good wouldnt even need a mount just let it hang lol and make sure you format the sdd for use

      • Appreciate the reply!
Would be looking at mounting so I can move the desktop occasionally and also avoid any metal on metal vibrations.
Just to confirm, the sata cable from mobo acts as both power and data transfer?

        • +1

You can use a piece of that sticky velcro tape if you can't find a mounting tray.

SATA cable does not provide power, that will need to come from PSU. You should have a few spare connectors floating around in your case.

          • @Snoozer: Ah yup I have plenty of spare power connectors. I'm sure that I have mounting trays so hopefully it should be relatively easy!

          • @Snoozer: I've honestly used duct tape before to 'mount' my SSD

  • Hi guys, can someone point out whether this is for SSD? (If not, what is the correct one)
It's different cables to the 3.5 HDD
