[PS4/XB1] Red Dead Redemption 2 $29 When Trading in 2 Eligible Games @ EB Games

740

Got this in an email. Says games need to have 10 dollar trade in value. So not sure how good of a deal this is unless someone can find some cheap games to trade in.

traded Prey Ps4 ($10) and BF1 Ps4 ($8) and still the lady told me I was all right, paid the $29 straight away.

Got prey and Bf1 for $10 each at target.

    SOLID deal.

  • Traded in cod advance warfare and Black Ops 3

  • Any of these games worth the $10 Trade? I’m Lvl 4

    Ryse X1
    Murdered X1
    Lego Dimensions Wii U
    Skylanders Superchargers Wii U
    Batman Arkham Knight PS4
    The Evil Within PS4
    Infamous Second Son PS4
    Okami HD PS4

    • EB don't take lego dimensions at all, But call them about the rest.

    • Okami, yes.
      The rest, no.

      • Thanks
Might be best just to buy it

        • You can buy games back at the same value you traded them for. E.g.
Trade in 2 games that equate to $10 each to qualify for $29 game then buy back your traded games for $10 making it $49 for red dead 2 after buying your games back.

  • Good deal I thought. Offloaded some now covered on GamePass. Being Gears of war 4 and For Honour.

Massive 2 disc install for RDR2 at least 60 minutes.

Can comfirm the following can be purchased from CEX entertainment exchange, then traded for this deal (for slight profit) buy prices shown online for cex by searching
    webuy.com

    Far cry 4 (ps4) bought CEX $10 , trades EB $10

Far cry 4 (XB1) bought CEX $10, trades EB $11

For Honor (XB1) bought CEX $12, trades EB $12-$13 . This one was weird, store told me on phone trades for $16, when at store, traded I think at $14.95 . Im on level 2. So think its base trade price was $12-$13.

The other 2 games, comfirmed at head office, the 2 games over $10, are adjusted up to $25 for this deal So no benefit trading $10 game, or $20 game. Unlike the Vbucks deal, where you got something for the excess.
I ended up paying $14.05 cash + $32 cost of games purchased from CEX for the trade. So $46.05 total cost.
Note, Eb generally are fine with accepting 2 copies of 1 game (even on same console) . If you trade like 20 copies, (even at different stores) they will partial ban you. I did this for purchasing my xbox one s, and Im banned from trading fifa now lol. Fifa was like $8 at CEX and traded for about $12 . So I traded few copies at different stores, then transfered credit over and paid remainder in cash. Can still do this, just be prepared for ban or partial ban from Eb games, afterwards :)

I like that kind of dedication

    • With this hassle, it costs you $46. Why wouldn't u order from amazon for $47?

      • It wasn't a "hassle". I enjoy bargain hunting. CEX store I was headed there to buy a 4k film anyway.
I also Prefer to buy in store. Plus thought the cheapest online was around $60.
Also, have had some bad experiences with Amoazon on high demand items. They made me wait months for some items, others I waited and waited, then they eventually cancelled.
Amazon don't charge you until actual item is shipped, which is fair, but still it's very frustrating waiting for months to receive item if they become out of stock (and didn't say out of stock when I placed order) .
This happened to me with an order af about 20 x 4k movies. Not sure if they are the same on games.

  • I traded in Call of Duty Black Ops 3 ($11) and Minecraft Favourites Pack ($14) both on Xbox One. They turned down Fallout 4.

Anyway my happiness was short-lived thanks to the disc installation that is still going with 90% complete after 90 mins

    • That's just how it is these days, blame the Abbott-Turnbull-Morrison (il)Liberal government for your inability to access first world internet.

It's worth noting that EB has the 'No Ragrets' policy now which allows you to buy back your games for the price you traded them in at. The trade prices have dropped dramatically since the red dead promo. Wolfenstein 2 went from $20 trade value to $8 in just a couple days.
I am going to take in some games that I can trade for $10-$11 and buy them back immediately after purchasing red dead 2 in the promo.

    • Will they allow that, it kinda seems like a loophole, but a great one if it works.

      • I thought the same thing. I went in yesterday with a few games I didn't want and 2 qualified for the $10 the week before but dropped in price so I left a little disheartened. I called up a couple stores to ask price on trade ins and one of them mentioned the 'No regrets' policy. They might not like you doing it straight away depending but what ever games you trade in they will have to allow you to buy back a pre owned copy at some point anyway.

  • Does a price match to a cheaper store affect the end price at all? Do they even do it in the case of a trade-in?
