I got some last year… They're still unopened.

    • +1

this has touch control dimming feature

      different from 9 cents deal

      Was it a bargain?

      • +1

Not if I don't use them.

        • How does your usage determine whether something is a bargain or not..

    • I use mine all the time. I have one in the back of each of my xiaomi cameras which turns them into night lights. I have one on my keyring. I have used them plugged into a 10AH USB battery for an "all night torch".

  • +1

I use one of these in the back of my PC - if its the same one, just be wary that the LEDs actually get quite hot. It won't give you a burn cause its tiny, but its unpleasantly hot nevertheless.

Be careful if you're grabbing one whilst it's on.

  • I use them in my house with standard USB chargers at night. Pretty handy if you have small kids.

    • What's wrong with using a lamp?

      • +2

These may be better on power consumption

        • +2

Far better and bright enough to see around at night.

        • Use and LED globe in the lamp.

          • @jv: How much would that cost as well as the lamp cost?

      • +1

Pretty handy and small as compared to a lamp which takes more space.

        • You can get some pretty small LED night lights which are nowhere near as hot and much safer if you have small kids.

          • @jv: My kids cant reach a switch which is at a height of 5 feet :)

            • @andrewsaws: You don't have chairs in the house?

              • +1

@jv: They are nailed on the floor

                • +1

                  @andrewsaws:

They are nailed on the floor

That's cruel. How do they get to school?

  • …wanted these before. should be useful!

  • +1

The best part is that you can plug it in the wrong way and completely fry your USB controllers as well!

Seriously, whichever idiot though it'd be a good idea to cover the entire other end with copper tracks should be laid off.

    • …handy headsup. wont play with them after having a few beverages then ;)

The copper is there for heat dissipation I assume. They don't fit into the socket the wrong way around - because the LEDs stick out. If your device doesn't have an overload shutoff then it deserves to be fried - so you can buy one that's not a POS.

      • The copper isn't connected to anything and sure as hell doesn't help heat dissipation at all. And no, it's quite easy to plug it in the wrong way. I'd know, I own about 10 of these and watched my boss fry his USB hub with it.

        • I own five of them and have never managed to fry anything.

I also own magnetic USB cables which have slightly protruding pins - they short out all the time - and are yet to blow anything.

  • always found a use for these, paid $1.33 for mine, thanks.
