Is this the mob that lost their plane?

    • Found it…

Ah, it's always in the last place you look.

I flew to Japan with Malaysia Airlines this month and survived the journey. People who bang on about MH370 really need to get some perspective, and realise the airline has flown over half a million incident free flights since then. MH17 was the action of reckless rebels and could have easily affected Singapore Air that flew the same route minutes before.

Do people avoid Germanwings, and its parent airline, Lufthansa, because of what happened on flight 9525?

People who bang on about MH370 really need to get some perspective

People are free to choose to fly with whoever they want…

      • Indeed they are, regardless of how irrational that decision is. To give you an example, I have a Chinese relative who will not fly Malaysian, because, and I quote "They are unsafe".

        • I can't imagine why anyone would irrationally consider them unsafe. I guess having two major, catastrophic air crashes in such a short period of time will negatively affect peoples perception of an airline for some strange reason…

    • I think you are kind of right, but also kind of not.

What happened with MH370 is a cultural problem and Malaysia is not the only place with this cultural problem.

People in every country and culture react differently to problems and at the end of the day the pilot not only chooses weather you live or die, but the skill, education and attitude of that pilot controls if you survive an emergency.

Acting like Malaysia Airlines is on the same level as Qantas is silly.

You can learn a lot about this sort of thing by watching air crash investigation (mayday) you will soon learn that culture and attitude are a huge part, as well as lack of education or simply lazy education being a huge contributor.

"What happened with MH370 is a cultural problem and Malaysia is not the only place with this cultural problem."

        So what did happen then…

Don't bother replying, you don't know any more than I do…

        • There is strong evidence for a theory that most experts believe.

But even if that wasn't the case, it doesn't really change much about culture and attitude in Malaysia.

          • @samfisher5986: Just look at that incident recently with the Indian airline and the brick wall :O

Randomly searched a few dates and it turns out FlightCentre price is dearer than what returned by Google Flights (e.g. on their default date 1st - 12st Feb).

Besides, KUL is not really on the way to Tokyo. It's about +5 hours detour. Even a route through Brunei has less detour.

KUL should compete for the route to China and India where they are actually in the middle of.

Their search interface is terrible! No flexible-dates calendar view means you have to search every date and trip length separately. Couldn't find any cheap Malaysia Air flights for BNE-TOK searches for every day in the first two weeks of Feb for 14-night trip.

Nothing wrong with Malaysian Airlines, just flew them recently to London and back - the experience was great

Flight Centre on the other hand appear to be greedy scum so i would rather buy book directly through airline than pay Flight Centre:
