  • Was just looking at posting this. Great post!

Echo Plus + Hue Bulb seems to be a bit cheaper at $114 @ JB Hi-Fi

  • How many hue devices can you connect to the plus. 50for hub bridge would this handle more

    • From memory there is no limit they state.

  • Love my Echo Plus! It seems to pick up my voice better than my Google Home plus has better sound, audio output etc.

I can also cast from Google Home to the Plus which is amusing. The great thing with the echos is you can plug them into inexpensive powered speakers, great for garage speakers etc. with voice control.

    • Would be good if they release the Echo Input here for the connecting to speakers.

      • Yes it would be good. You can also connect any Echos to speakers already with their Aux output and with Echo Dot on special currently at AU $59 I can't see the Echo Input when released being much cheaper unless on special.

Currently OS the Inputs will be USD $35 which may translate to around $50 in Australia. They will make a good Chromecast Audio replacement with the direct voice control.

I enjoy have a voice controlled house playing my Spotify music. I can direct google home to play on itself, play on my Pioneer Receiver (inbuilt Chromecast) or on my two Echos. If I am on my PC I can redirect Spotify to play on any device in the house. It's all controllable from Android phones too!

The only clunky thing so far is I cannot see the Chromecast Audio in Spotify on the PC until after I have told Google Home to play music on it. This may be because it is only turned on when I am going to use it unlike the other devices, not sure?
