Double Points for Drink Purchases at Chatime

760

Got the email this morning. Chatime (nationwide?) are offering double points for drinks purchases until 5th November.

It says in app orders and in store orders will get the offer, no limit on how many times. That means every $1 spent will now get you 20 points instead of the usual 10 until offer end date (roughly works out to 20% back in points to use on your next purchase).

Edit: as watwatwat pointed out in the comments, you can't use points to partially purchase drinks, so "buy 5,get one free" (instead of the usual "buy 10, get one free") is probably a more accurate description of this deal than getting 20% back in points.

Tncs from the email:
Double points: Offer valid until 5 November 2018. Points will be automatically applied to your Loyal-Tea. Double points will be rewarded on app and in T-Brewery.

    Double points at Chatime

    Flybuys?

    • Scan your code and let me know if it works.

No, these are chatime specific points if you have their loyalty card.

How much is a point worth Kelly?

What real world value do the points have?
    Sounds like a scam.

    • +1

You redeem the points for drinks

      • 80% of the franchises will just say the machine is broken every single time you try to redeem

    • 10 points = 10c credited to your chatime loyalty card, so you can accumulate then get free teas later when you have enough points.

Except Aldi is more expensive than buying half-price from Coles and Woolies.

      • +2

On point here, aldi really isn't cheaper unless you absolutely need to pay full price for something. (Even then it's still not cheaper most of the time)

  • Like buy 5 get 1 free?

    • Yes, correct but overpriced drinks. They recently up 10% since 1/7/2018.

  • +3

Roughly if you buy 5 drinks, you will get 1 free. And you can't partial pay with points so you have to accrue 5 full drinks.

Outside of this deal, you need to buy 10 drinks to get 1 free.

Take note they also don't validate phone numbers or require credit cards to be added to app, so you can create new accounts and get 50% off your first drink every time.

    • so you can create new accounts and get 50% off your first drink every time.

Think this is a better deal than the double points deal lol

    worst bubble cup around…

    • We're not particularly spoiled for choice where I live (ACT) but I'd be interested to know what bubble tea places are good for when we travel interstate.

      • +2

I find Coco consistently higher quality.

    • Which would you recommend instead?

    • +1

I would agree they have been superseded now with sooooo many options in Melb city. I am still fond of their flavours but previously fruit flavours tasted like real fruit ie strawberry had real strawberry bits. Now every flavour tastes rather artificial.
Gong Cha has all kinds of weird flavours that I don't care for but they are the most popular big competitor.
I would also like recs for different bubble teas.

      • burwood (NSW) has like 10 different places that sell these within a 5 block radius

thats not including restaurants that sell them …..just dedicated drink joints

currently king t seems to consistently have the longest queue which is based off the same model as HEYTEA

      • Coco / Beau tea followed by Gong Cha - for quality in Sydney… 'No Fail' also meant to be decent quality - but haven't tried yet!

Read it as “Double Demerit Points”.

  • Chatime was much better than easyway when it first came out…then all these other places started blooming

not relevant but easyway refused to accept my loyalty card anymore lol
