Initially I thought this was average, but after some googling I now think it's a reasonably good deal. For example see BigW similar product for $298: http://www.bigw.com.au/home-garden/kitchen/water-filtration/…

Not that similar. For $100 extra you're getting much higher quality filters and a stainless steel body.

Good Deal. I bought my water Dispenser/cooler off Big W 2 years ago for a managers special of $188. but that didn't come with any filter or water bottle. They are great to have and you wouldn't go back to regular tap water

Why not a fridge for cold water and a kettle for hot water? If you want filtered water use a Brita or puratap.

It seems wasteful having something plugged in consuming power all the time to keep water cold/hot when you already have a fridge running and a kettle to heat water on demand.

      • Do those Brita bottles cope with hot water well?

I thought this deal was pretty average but thanks for highlighting that it's actually an AMAZING water filter. I would hate to have missed out on this deal because I didn't realise it was AMAZING!

      Sounds like a sockpuppet.

      • doubt it though

        quite a possibility though

      • :-D

that made me doubt that they were :P

        but it's still a possibility

not AMAZINGif it doesn't filter out the flouride in the water!!

The government puts fluoride in water to control our minds! 9/11 was an inside job! WAKE UP SHEEPLE!!

    • If it doesn't remove Fluoride, it's not worth 2c.
You need Activated alumina filter, bone char carbon, or Reverse Osmosis to get Fluoride out.

  • Does it filter out the mind control drugs the government is adding to our water?

    • +4

      God i hope not.

      • +1

You know, at first I was opposed to the government's mind control satellites…

  • Does anyone know, do you have to manually fill it up, or does it just plug into your tap?

    • wondering about this too!

just a note: the filter provided filters for 4 months.

    Just to add!
    3x Filters for $99 (RRP $195)
    http://www.dealme.com.au/deal/preview/100/9004b6a14e25042b16…

Actually that's not true exactly. Because if you buy 3 from the website for $195 you get 1 more filter for free… thus meaning each is for only ~$50

So 3x for $99 is still cheaper thank buying it from their website. The question really… can I buy like 30 of them and use it for the next 8 years? Any expiry dates?

I like this bit "….get rid of your kettle, with hot water on-hand when you need it!" and this bit "No environmental impact".

It's partially an urn, I'd call constantly boiled water as having an impact in wasted electricity!

Have to wonder whether the cooling and heating functions are independently controlled.

    AMAZING

We don't need filtered water in Australia (well with some exceptions)

Mind you having said that I have a filter and a water line to my fridge which gives me cold tasty water on demand

Sounds snobbish, but I like my fridge moar!

warning trivia - these are VERY popular in Korea, you never buy bottled water as theres always one of these type of units

  • yum!

  • +3

For about $3 you could buy one of these and it will probably be just as effective.

Disclaimer: May or may not be true. But probably is.

I want a fluoride filter guys

  • -1

    Doesn't remove flouride.

    • What about sugaride? ;-)

      • You definitely need a sugar filter :)

      • Not removing fluoride is definitely a PLUS for any water filter.

You mustn't be old enough to remember what people's teeth were like before they started fluoridating the drinking water. It was common for kids in primary school to have a mouthfull of fillings, and having rotted teeth and needing them pulled was the norm in middle age

Any knowledgable person could understand the benefits of fluoride and why it's addition to drinking water is so vital. Especially for childrens dental health - that is the whole reason that it is added to water!

However, theres plenty of ignorant people out there who know no better. Did you know there are also parents out there who refuse to immunize their kids? Selfish, arrogant people!

        • WRONG. There are 2 types of Fluoride. Naturally-occurring fluoride is good for teeth, whereas in-organic fluoride (Hydrofluoric acid) is a toxic byproduct of the manufacture of aluminum, cement, steel, and phosphates. They're tricking you into believing that the one they put in the drinking water is good for you, when it's only good for dentists'/doctors' business! It is a certified poison; you are being medicated without consent. European countries that did add fluoride, have now banned it because of so many health problems.
          Worth reading- http://bit.ly/tMHfh

        • @llama: Flouride can be applied by toothpaste. It is no use in protecting teeth after its been digested.

Not to mention that Hitler tested the effects of fluoride on Jews and found that they are more docile and obedient once medicated.

        • Sorry, I'm not sure that I believe you because my tinfoil hat is in for currently in for repair :-p

    • Doesn't remove flouride.

      doesn't claim to….
