    $300 Gift Card + $300 Headphones + S9 (and?) or S9 Plus? :/

    • Also that's Efptos card so you can use any where

      • Is this just a general eftpos and not HN giftcard? Don't fancy a HN card.

      • does this mean i can use the eftpos card to pay the monthly contract cost?

  • I think it's real. I saw the same thing at HN Knox

  • Yes , absolutely

  • only new / porting? not existing customers?

    • New or porting or upgrade

      • Just called 3 different HN stores (QV, Nunawading and Broady) - upgrades are not included; only new or port-ins

So if you're already on optus, you can't keep your number if you want to take advantage of the offer

    Starting plans:

    S9 64GB $75p/mp 4GB Data Unlimited Call Talk/Text No International cap (+GF and Headphones)

    (S9+ 64GB $85p/mo) S9+ $100 256GB 4GB Data Unlimited Talk/Txt + Entertainment extra (sport/natgeo)

Hope it makes sense xD was typing as talking otp

    • Is this HN store plan? Optus website shows a different value.

    • +7

Finally a useful comment after scrolling thru a bunch of nonsense junk

    • OTP= On the Potty?

If you have student account or work for company that has Samsung epp, you can get the phone outright cheaper https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/409318

  • Confirmed in Brisbane

  • So I'm taking it the Galaxy Tab S4 isn't included in this deal? If so, that's an absolute bargain!

    • Not with tab I think

    • I wish haha

  • No, I think I will go for mate 20 pro

BE NICE TO KNOW ON WHAT MONTHLY PLAN & COSTs?????

Does HN sell a caps lock replacement?

  • +2

    Store only promotion

Can't remember the last time i was bothered to get in my car and visit a HN

  • +3

You will get a Optus bloated version. Can’t use other carrier feature such as VOLTE & Wi-Fi calling as the settings are locked to Optus if use decide to use another carrier.

    • +1

Just flash it with Samsung oem firmware, guaranteed to keep knox counter intact

    • +1

Honestly, been with Optus for like 20 years and I've never had a problem with bloatware. The Optus app is not bloatware, it's actually useful.

    • +2

When the $59/mnth S8 offer was running this time last year, my local HN didnt have any Optus-branded S8s in black, so they gave me a non branded version (apparently it needs manager pre-approval or something - probably get a credit back for it from Optus) so YMMV.

      • +1

No usually the branded and unbranded samsung phones have different buy prices/rebates so that why they would need to check (same thing happened at JB) why would you get a credit for it ??

I wish i jumped on the s8 when it was $49pm but optus wouldn't upgrade me as i was 20 months into contract and would waive the fees. Two weeks after I spoke to then I got the free upgrade to a new plan but the offer had ended so im still rocking a falling apart s7 lol

  • +3

I remember seeing this Optus plan the other day (not with HN eftpos) but the phone is on lease. Better checking this before signing up.

    • +1

      Great point.

  • +1

got 64gb s9 when 15% off on with 3 Amex cards for $849 + JBL headphones bonus :)

    • Got same deal but also with trs.

  • +4

Man i wish HN can do that to iPhones too. Not just Samsung.

  • Does it only include the S9/S9+ and not anything else?

    • Don't think there is any chance with iPhones, but I want to know if I can do it with the Mate20 Pro

      • I will take the mate 20 pro in a jiffy if it can be done. Probably have to visit to HN to know for sure.

  • Wonder if this is valid for the lease plans?

$55/month for the most basic lease plan (4gb data), could work out quite a decent deal when you factor in the 300 gift card and JBL headphones.

The equivalent buy plan is $70, so $15 ontop. Usually i don't advocate leases, but $15/month x 24 months is $360, i doubt my 2 year old S7 is worth more than $360 today, so it might not be a terrible deal.

  • Will HN able to include the 10% student discount with this offer ?

  • +1

Can confirm that it's an EFTPOS card! Not a HN gift card…

Also, plans are the exact same as what Optus are currently providing. I just got the S9 64gb with 20gb data for $75pm

    • Port in or Upgrade?

  • Is this definitely only Broadmeadows?

  • Can anyone tell me how to use student offer with Harvey Norman offer?

Been told by one of the HN staff this can't be done.

    • Apparently after chat to Optus

  • +1

Unrelated to this one but similar. I managed to get $100 Harvey Norman gift card at Harvey Norman @ Domayne Alexandria when I was getting an iPhone XS 64GB 24 month plan today. Own, not lease. The store rep mentioned they had this promo for iPhone XS model at that store only and that it expires today. Not sure if BS on expiration part, but decided to proceed as I wanted an iPhone XS for my wife anyway and was looking for deals. I was also able to apply 10% students discount afterwards via Optus online chat as we've got access to edu email. So, basically $99pm (200GB data one) plus $100 Harvey Norman gift card for iPhone XS 64GB on a 24 month plan. Next move is to cancel my home ADSL2+ as hotspotting internet on that plan will more than cover our household needs, the speed is also going to be faster likely :))). So win win in my books :).

If anyone is interested may be worth it to pay that store a visit to see if they can do this deal for you.

  • Have been looking at Optus $105 p/m 200gb 24mth plan with an S9+ plus with bonus headphones. Might pop into HN for a look. This could be the icing on the cake. Many people on these high gig phone plans? Just don't wanna risk the 50gb plan especially as thinking about ditching the laptop.

This deal is only for New or port in customers only. The banner in store state Switch to Optus. Just a rough calculation for those looking at this deal with $75 month plan with 20GB, basic S9 with 64gb.

$300 eftpos gift card + selling headphone, say $200 will give you a saving of $500.
$500/24 = $20.83 per month of saving. Therefore each month the payment will be $54.17. A great deal if you can jump into it. Sadly for me who is currently with Optus will no be eligible for this deal unless I get a new number.

Hopefully this help the next person who is deciding on this.

    • What if you are with optus but only month to month. ie. not under contract?
      Anyway to keep your number?

      • +1

I asked the question as I am also off contract myself and they told me no. Got to be new customer or get a new number.

        • thanks.

Hmm, might port out and back.
The telstra deal may actually be as good though. $69 for 30gb, so about $150 worse off, but with 10gb more.

          • @fusion17: If the port out and in works, please do let me know.
            Thanks.

            • @Smaster: ported out to telstra prepaid sim this arvo. Transfer done within 1 hr.
Signed up to the $85 50gb plan with the mate 20 pro tonight.
              Got $150

I think the S9 is better value but coming from an S7, the only thing different is a better oled sceen.
Charge speed, battery, memory, ram etc is all the same on the s9, and i was surprised how close in size the m20p was. Sold.

              • @fusion17: Thanks mate. I will do the porting tomorrow.

  • Hi guys :)

I have broken my S8 and looking to get the new S9.
I still have 10 months and 10 handset repayments with Woolworths.
Is there any chance this will work for me?

Any ideas on what I can do?

    Thanks heaps in advance!

    • +2

If it's a warranty issue walk into any Samsung store and get it replaced or did you drop it.

If you port out of your contract, you will have to pay the remaining monthly repayments and possible a cancellation fee. Don't do it. Just ride out the 10 months with a cheapo $100 phone.

Got this deal last Saturday HN Woodville. Samsung Note 9 with headphones, $300 eftpos card and they even threw in a $30 screen protector. Thanks to OP. Would not have gone through HN otherwise. Cheers.

    • That’s nuts. How u manage it? This promo only is for s9 and s9+. My nearest HN only offered $100 HN Gift card for Note 9. Would love to know how to get your deal. I’m pretty keen to jump over to Android on this.

      • I did get the $115 pm 200gb plan which may have helped. After the eftpos card and selling headphones it works out a good deal. I just assumed the note 9 was included in the promotion with the S9 & S9 plus. I originally went for s9 plus but they talked me into the Note. Glad I went for it now that I have it. It is worth the stretch.

  • On phones other than the S9 and S9 plus, HN are doing$150 EFTPOS card on any other new Optus plan with handset.

Also, if they have no stock, they do a "promise" so you can go home and order online through Optus directly, but still get the voucher. I was looking at the Mate 20 Pro (not in stock in store) and they were prepared to give me the voucher.

At $85 P/m, 50GB data and no metering on most streaming services, it's hard to pass up that deal for the Mate20 Pro.

    • I ended up with the $150 eftpos card $95 pm note 9 with extra case and screen prot thrown in. Didn’t have stock but HN home delivered next day. Wish I knew about the “promise” with online order, free streaming would be nice but not essential.

    • Thanks mate that's very helpful! Will try with the Samsung Galaxy S8+

  • Any luck with getting the Samsung S8+ with this deal?
