    This is a bargain?

    • +1

Whether a deal is a bargain is relative to its normal price. Expensive? Yes. Can you find the same item for cheaper? If not, then it is a bargain.

      • Yep, its staggering how many people dont understand what a bargain is.

  • +8

Hello @my-phonez can you please explain why an Apple 8 Plus is currently $1458 https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/APPLE-IPHONE-8-PLUS-64GB-SPACE-G…
when the RRP from apple is $1149?? $309 more expensive
    https://www.apple.com/au/shop/buy-iphone/iphone-8/5.5-inch-d…

Why are you ripping off customers?

  • +6

Fkn hell these phones are expensive

    • Like buying an expensive car, they're mostly just for being seen with.

  • @my-phonez

Will my order from last Friday be mailed out today?

  • +3

I hate seeing stores that have their normal price HIGHER than RRP. Despite it working out to be cheaper, it's so misleading as per comments.

  • +1

Well…Apple is crazy about money. I can't justify $2079.2 price tag for a Smartphone.

  • RRP for XS Max 64GB = $1799
    RRP for XS Max 256GB = $2049
    RRP for XS Max 512GB = $2369

    • +6

Why do you sell way above RRP then?

      • +5

I'd also like to know as per my comments above, since you are explicitly stating the RRP's, 20% off is misleading as its not 20% off as your listed price is inflated.

        • +8

I bought one last week when the prices were not deflated , but the seller cancelled the order stating they were out of stock. But shortly jacked up the prices and was still in stock.
Sorry , but cannot trust the seller.
Got the refund back though but it seems very dodgy.

    • +6

      Your prices $2159.99, $2299, $2599.
      Fake 20% off.

    • +2

So I'll have the 64GB MAX for $1439.20 then please

    • +1

whats the point of listing the RRP when you guys charge MORE the RRP? logic?

  • +4

Prices have been jacked to give 20% discount. 256 GB is $2049 at Apple. They selling for $2299. Charging $250 more than Apple then giving 20% discount on jacked up price

  • +1

Are you guys the new allphones? Allphones 2.0?

  • Maybe a bargain but not a 20% off bargain.

    • -8

with code we are still selling cheaper than apple. also i believe that we are selling cheapest on ebay. if we are not offering this price no one can sell on lower than this price.

      • You're full of s**t. How do you sell anything when the manufacturer is cheaper than your normal price?

        • i already mention the price with the code. which is much cheaper than manufacturer. no one can offer better than this price.

          • +3

@my-phonez: I'd rather forgo my $71 saving in protest against your bad practices.

  • +1

A 10% off bargain based on Apple's RRP.

  • +1

    Any bargains?

    • Not authentic bargains.

  • Negging to shady practices, Selling way above RRP and posting here ? time to move on somewhere else.

  • +3

I'll have an iPhone XS MAX 64GB for $1439.20 thanks as that is true 20% off the RRP. You guys are a rip off.

All you're doing is effectively giving customers 3.947% off the RRP

  • I wonder when eBay got 20% off, who gonna pay the 20%? eBay or the seller?

    • Someone mentioned in some other thread that when its 20% off the seller and eBay wear half the discount each. Not sure if its true, but judging by the listing price, it's probably not far from the truth. Some sellers always inflate their prices about 10% during 20% off deals.

    • +1

Seller pays fvf and listing fees + PayPal fees whenever applicable, normally after everything, a listed item, say, aud100 sold, the seller ended up only receiving $87. Whenever eBay do 20% off, the seller is still getting the same $87 if item sold. Seller not losing anything, but, buyer paid only $80 for that listed $100 item. Means, in this situation, eBay fork out $7 for the buyer, but eBay on the other hand, making money from the fvf+ listing fees from the seller that sold the $100 item. Hope it is clear here. Also, if the seller is having an eBay store package that they'll pay monthly to eBay, the fvf and listing fees normally lower, probably they may ended up getting $89 instead of $87 for item sold. (All above assuming buyer paid via Paypal).
In this situation, OP is exploiting eBay's discount for the buyer, to make more money per item sold , than normally they sold it when eBay is not doing discount. As usual, buyer always get to choose to buy or not to buy. About that seller…Tsk tsk tsk..

      • So what you say is no matter how eBay gonna do the promotion, the seller does not have to share half the discount as some other thread assumed.
Thus, leaves the seller to jack the price for making more profit than cover the discount lose.

        • yes, ebay never informed us prior about any sitewide promo that they are going to run. however exception happens with some bigger ebay store, because those seller, they are paying hundreds per month for their store fees, hence they can work together to have their own ebay store 20% off (TGG,Myer etc.) And often at those times, the ebay store owner will have enough time to remove agent controlled priced products, such as Asko products some Miele's apple's Ipad etc.

Seriously?? Jacking above the RRP and then reducing it doesn't make it a deal!!

  • +1

Im going to give this seller a +1 but I'm also going to discount it by 200% , making it a -1.

I hope my explanation above is satisfactory.

  • if you see a pre-sale price that looks blatantly misleading - on eBay or anywhere else - you can make a complaint to the ACCC

And to the rep, thanks for publicly admitting to raising your prices above RRP. Artificially inflating your prices for a sale is illegal.
