As per Bluesmart website battery & electronics module could be removed by following few simple steps. Remove Battery - Not 100% sure of this is the same model.

The removal instruction is for Series 2. I believe you can't remove the battery for this model, therefore making it useless as a air travel case.

    • Thanks! Updated the post.

Please note: app no longer available. This product may not comply with some airlines' regulations for carry on baggage - please check your airline's baggage guidelines before flying.

      Also it means:

You can't even lock the case as it has a digital lock and needs the app to work

      • Thanks! Updated the post mate.

Already mentioned in the post mate.

      Negatives:
      - This product has been discontinued.
      - App no longer available.
      - Banned by most of the airlines.

  • please DO NOT post things that are BANNED!

A ban from a private airline is totally different to a ban from a government.
People are still free to use it on other airlines, or methods of transport.

      • Or even as totally different stuff, like overnight stay over clothing things

  • +3

2.6KG left for my clothes - hard pass

  • Just curious why this is banned? Is it because of the battery? Thought you can bring batteries onboard?

    • its because the battery is inbuilt and not removable.

      • What's the difference between a non removable battery inside a suitcase and a battery bank inside a suitcase?

        • +1

They have special bags on the planes for liIon batteries that get hot and/or start smoking. These are fire proof bags, similar to what model car/plane guys use to store their LiPo batteries in.

You can’t fit a whole cabin bag in it. So, if the battery is not removable, they cannot do anything if the battery catches on fire as the whole case is too big to put into one one these fire proof bags.

    • remember the exploding phone batteries being banned being in luggage

      • +1

only remembered Samsung phone batteries catching fire but that's not because it was in a luggage.

        • -1

The ban applies to the Galaxy Note7 being carried onto an aircraft as well as carry-on and check-in luggage. The decision was made to ban the Galaxy Note7 from all flights after Samsung ended production of the phones after receiving complaints of overheating and exploding batteries.

Thanks for posting OP. I was curious to find out why you were worried about being neg for posting and I didn't think the product is so bad even after reading your neg and positive. Then I read…

    Weight (approx. when empty): 4.4kg

  • How much power is in the suitcase if it weights 4.4kg? My air wheel is only 8.8kg. Look like a good option for camping over-night plus powering a toaster.

  • +1

If you travel by car, bus or train this is a pretty reasonable deal.

I thought it was one of the self-driving suitcases that follows you (that would have been cool for the price):
    www.forwardx.com

  • There must be a way to remove the battery…. assuming the battery is 500g it's still 3.9kg

  • Heavy, overpriced, discontinued and banned from flights.

This has to be the best product ever.

  • Crap of the day. Seriously, this store is selling expiring or discontinued products, but the price is not much cheaper!
