I am very happy to finally have a deal for this VAVA Dash Cam! There is a fair amount of stock but it is limited. They are hoping to have another deal before Christmas.

This Dash Cam started life with extremely successful campaigns on Kickstarter (raising AUD $600,476) & Indigogo (raising AUD $917,541). These campaigns were featured in and recommended by Forbes, Digital Trends, Backroad Planet, Tech Crunch, Venture Beat & more.
The VAVA Dash Cam was built from the result of hundreds of conversations with real drivers & won the 2017 Red Dot Award for Product design.

VAVA VA-CD001 1080p/60fps Dash Cam With GPS Module & Snapshot Button was $139.99 Now $109.99 with Code M245FQD3

This Dash Cam comes with a Free Item, see below the Reviews for details.

Clear 1080p HD Wide-Angle Videos
Car DVRs can make the difference in case of an accident…but only if the video capture is clear enough to represent tangible proof for the insurance company. The VAVA Dash Cam sports an advanced SONY STARVIS Series IMX291 CMOS sensor that pairs with 6 glass lenses and an infrared lens for sharper images, both night and day. In addition to a wide-angle lens that covers up to 5 car lanes, the car camera features a built-in mic to record audio even inside the vehicle.

G-sensor for Emergency Video Recording
Looking for extensive protection, one that has you covered even when you leave your car unattended? Not only does the VAVA Dash Cam's 3-axis G-sensor capture and auto lock footage for up to 20 seconds, but the 320mAh built-in battery allows for G-senor activated recordings even in parking mode.

Included Snapshot Remote Button
Made to turn road trips into reviewable memories and to capture the unexpected as it literally crosses your vehicle's path, the VAVA Car Camera comes with a remote button that sits discretely onto the steering wheel. Press it once to take a snapshot, or long press it for a 20-second video. The dash cam supports class 10 or above SD cards up to 128GB so you'll have plenty of storage for your captures.

Full-Featured VAVA Dash Cam Mobile App
Gone are the days when you were required to take out the SD card to access your dash camera's media! The VAVA Car DVR comes with a full-featured app for iOS and Android that lets you use your phone as a display while driving, share photos, videos, and your travel journey over social media or with an insurance company. Amongst the multiple functions are live video feed and GPS tracking, and even photo filtering. You can use your Phone as a display while driving!

  • This much better price than yesterday's $560 dash cam.
    Both 1080 60fps, and gps.

    • -3

Yes, this is much better value.

wouldnt VAVA Dash Cam 2K be a better option?

  • Tempting…
If only it had capacitor …

    • no parking mode then

      • Just hardwire.

        • +1

I've got one of these from the original Kickstarter campaign. They sell a dual port battery park that you can use for the parking mode, or you can hold the button on it for 4 seconds and it will record constantly for the next 2-4 hours depending on if you have one or two cameras connected to it. So far it has survived Australian summers better than my interior.

Downside is the image quality is crap compared to my Blackvue dr490L (same sensor but blackvue has more refined software for the image quality), even with 1080p60 you won't be able to pick up a licence plate for most cars as they zoom past you.

Here's a YouTube link to one of my vids. Set it to 1080p60 https://youtu.be/SleOOH1sJpw

why link a dozen articles that are clearly sponsored, even the amazon reviews look fake

      Why are you so negative?

  • How it compare to the Viofo A119 V2?

    • +6

I knew I would be asked that question so I spent over an hour looking for a comparison but had no luck :(

    • +2

Not sure about the viofo, but I've got these on one of my cars and had blackvue dr490L on my other car, the image quality of the vava is inferior despite both using the same sensor, you will struggle to read licence plates on cars unless they are moving at the same speed as you directly in front of you. the resolution is insufficient for the wide angle lens. Most popular complaint in the Facebook group is the mount tends to fail, I've had to 3M tape mine to the windshield.

Here's one of my vids in 1080p60 https://youtu.be/SleOOH1sJpw

      • Oh man, that footage is a bit disappointing, thanks for sharing that. Would you happen to have any footage of your blackvue dr490L?

        • +1

It's not full frame since I was trying to capture the guy driving over a painted island to get around me, but here's front focused and rear focused. It is YouTube so set the resolution to 1080p and then restart the video.

          https://youtu.be/pfqX0xeJEh4

          https://youtu.be/vCOT_KfLQkY

I'm tempted to try the new Xiaomi 70mai with the 1944p resolution sensor. Higher resolution would do wonders with a wide angle lens.

Congratulations OP your product has now risen to #2 in Car Electronics!

  • -4

Congratulations OP your product has now ascended to #8 in Electronics and #1 in Car Electronics!

  • Interesting features. The magnetic coupling would be very convenient, as you can put it away easily if you need to park for a long period out in the sun. And battery operated so you can record during parking without hardwiring.

    • It looks like the maximum operating temperature of this unit is 50°C, so it may not be suitable to record during parking in Australian summer

      • Mine works fine in summer for parking mode. For constant recording mode however, it will sometimes chime and then switch itself off. It does have large grilles on the side for ventilation and for the speaker though.

Just keep in mind, it's not recommended to hardwire these. You're better off just using their battery pack like I have done. Works well as you can get 2-4 hours of loop recording if you need it, or just leave it in parking mode for emergency recordings
