COUNTMEIN

I received a postcard with a code for $100 off the Great Vic Bike Ride. We'd go but we have a 6 month old, too small for a helmet!

I'm at least fifty percent sure you can ride your bike for free most of the time in Australia.

Of course this is a deal it is a discount on the current cost of the event. The site is pretty vague on what is actually included in the price though. I presume this includes camping, food etc? OP might want to include a bit more detail here.

As to the 6 month old, if you are doing 3 days you could find a doting grandparent for that short a time.

      Are you volunteering?

      • "barren by choice" - I don't think so.

3 Day Adult $529 with Code

I'm assuming they include the bike for that price…

I have done GVBR for 6 times. The price include camping place food luggage transport and also traffic managements. They normally shut down the road for the event. it's around 500km of ridings splitting into 9days where we ride 4days and have a day of rest and ride another 4days. It won't take you all day to ride. Departure around 7-7:30, if you're fast you can get to destination before 12. Have a sit in the bakery. Campsite opens at 12. All luggages are transported through trucks, at 12 you will be able to find the trucks, riders who got their first unloads the truck. when you find your bags you can then pick a place to set up your tent(bring your own tent) or if you pay extras you can have volunteers set up your tents in a specific area. After all that, you could ride to the nearby town or chill in the large tent where they use as dinning area and bar SOCIALISE ;D. Breakfast and dinner are provided at the same place. Lunch is provided at the mid point of the ride everyday, water stop every 25km.
If you like riding, making friends or exploring Victoria a bit more in a special way, GVBR is a good event to experience!
