Does the PS Vue app work with the Shield? It doesn't seem like the service is available in Australia yet, but it's listed as an Australian app on the Nvidia site
Anyone suspect there will be a new version sometime soon as this is very old?

Not much since it's really basically a media player. Can't find anything that it would do spectaculrly.

nothing has been announced or even leaked. This is a refreshed version from 2017, the original from 2015. There have been 3 SOC's released since the X1 which is in the Shield, the most recently released Xavier has a Volta GPU with 512 CUDA cores, and can output 8k video. This would be a substantial upgrade but an expensive one. I cant see an upgrade for atleast another year
OK, so I bought one of these and would be interested in others thoughts and views.
* I have found it excellent for Plex with it playing every 4K file I have, the highest being 89mbit bitrate in HDR
* Plays 4k with subtitles, something my LG b7 does not
* Gaming using the Geforce Now/Steam service sucks. The lag is horrendous, skips frames even in 720p and makes games unplayable due to no AU/Asia server even on my 100/40 NBN service
* Still experimenting with Emulators but feel this could be where the money is
* Sideloading apps is average and even though I own a lot of android apps like the LEGO collections they are not compatible??
* Yet to open the Asus controller as I have been using Xbox1 and PS4 contollers with very mixed reviewsWhat else are people using these for?
So tempting but not close enough to Christmas yet. What do you guys think? Better bargains to come?
ALSO for someone who has one if you have a minute:
1> What are the KODI audio output options? My receiver will only do DTS/DD, not DD+ or any of the new formats. Wondering whether Kodi can dynamically downmix to one of the surround formats my receiver does support?
2> Can KODI on the shield dynamically alter the refresh rate it syncs to the TV with? Reason I ask is I have both 25fps and 30fps videos and if the refresh rate is set to 50, the 30fps stuff jutters and vice versa (if the refresh is set to 60 25fps stuff jutters). Yes I know it doesn't affect a lot of people (my wife doesn't see it unless I mention it) but it bugs me to tears. Apparently KODI can do that on PC from what I'm reading but there's no mention of KODI on the shield. I hate panning shots when the fps and refresh aren't in sync.
So tempting.
