Price will always drop as time goes by. The question is how long do you want to wait.
The best time to get it is when the new Chromecast 4 comes out. (when it is getting superseded and thats when you get bargain bins clearance on older model). This information is after I consulted my crystal ball…
Chromecasts very rarely drop in price or if they do it's not much. If you want one you may as well jump in.

Burger! Tried to use my 3 ebay gift cards. All of them are "like Looks like that's the wrong code. Please double-check and try again."Had the same issue. Ebay chat wasn't much help saying they know about the issue.. and its affecting certain accounts but well get back to you in 24 to 48hrs. I suspect it's got to do with linkage to other account that I created for the UK gift card deal
You can try to select your payment method from like paypal to credit card and back to paypal and then input the code to see if it works.

How much of an improvement is gen 3 chromecast on gen 1? Chromecast gen 2 is 39$. Looking at the reviews for gen 3, there isnt much of a difference between gen 2 and gen 3.
Gen 3 can do 1080@60 fps Gen 2 can't.
