    • Thanks, bought one secondhand off gumtree recently for 180, so this is great!

    • Thanks for this. I bought a slimline one as it is much more convenient to place.

    • Thanks for the link, but the slimline is showing as sold out. :(

    • Sorry to Necro post, but did anyone who got the slimline also get anchors included? I could have sworn they were included but buggered if I can find em…

A shed that is 2m at the gable is pretty pointless.

    • Too low you mean?

    • I don't see why it's pointless if used for storage. You wouldn't want to work in of course.

    • As a storage shed you probably don't need it any high?

      • Depends what you’re storing

Need this to store all my Xiaomi collection .

    • Your xiaomi grow lights?

    • Xiaomi umbrellas?

  • Any idea on the flooring. Do I get any cheaper wooden or any other material flooring option for the shed? Not sure whether we can make concrete flooring .

    • +4

Generally These sheds rely on a concrete floor for anchoring, otherwise, they will get blown over in the wind. If you employed any other flooring system than you would have to do some other foundation/anchoring system, which would probably get more complicated and expensive than doing a concrete slab.

    • I got a shed this size that I fixed to treated pine sleepers. Lined inside with weed matting and filled with gravel to height of sleepers. Has not blown away yet.

Box up your intended shed site.

Go to a concrete mixer place. Tell them you need 10m2, 10cm thick (so one m3 total). You're in no rush. Give them a Google map view of where you've done the box up. Tell then whenever they have massive excess, dump it there.

Pay cash on delivery, no receipt needed. May get away with $300ish. More if the truck cannot dump straight into the box up.

      • Sorry no deal for me..will wait for next concrete dump offer!

        Super advice, cheers

      • Neat idea, have people actually done this though? Any stories?

        • I did when neighbours were building.

      • No reo? Howdo you smooth it out?

        • I personally always reo but I know some people won't if it is under a certain size.

          See below.

  • so it have to be built on a concrete base?

Typically 10mm if the ground is fairly flat and embedded with a layer of crushed rock (very cheap stuff). Could get away with 6-8mm if you go with steel reinforcement mesh but I'd still do 10.

More crushed rock and 15mm of concrete if the ground gets mushy in the rainy months.

Asking someone to do the entire base for you, including prepping the ground and boxing up, screeding, etc, I won't be surprised if you're up for $1.5k++

For reference, you'll need 1m3 of concrete for a 10mm base and that is anywhere from $500-800. A few sleepers and stakes for boxing up, shouldn't cost more than $50. About $30 for crushed rock if you pick it up with your own trailer.

I won't bother mixing up more than 5-6bags of concrete. You'll need much more than that for the job.

        10cm, 100mm yes?

        • Yes, 10cm is approximately 100mm.

Edit - I see what I did there.

  • Can anyone confirm if the doors can be moved from middle to left or right …?

  • Is this the same shed for $419 @ Bunnings?
    https://www.bunnings.com.au/garden-pro-3-x-3-x-2-06m-zinc-ma…

    • Looks like almost the same SKU/Model number: ZAJ30302MK vs FS-ZA30302TK

  • They have a 6 mtr x 6mtr with roller doors for $3499
Thats great value right. I havent compared to market.
